I watched History Of The Eagles last night, and found myself inspired to dig around for some vintage YT clips... Is Glenn Frey from the planet Assholia?
Felder and Meissner were the skill players, Frey and Henley were the songwriters. And yep, both Frey and Henley are prima donnas. To be fair there would be no Eagles without any of them, but to keep going you have to have Frey and Henley.

Bernie couldn't handle Glenn Frey's personality any longer, so he poured a beer on Glenn's head and left the band!
I saw them at the Tangerine Bowl for their Hotel California tour. It was one of the best concerts ever for me. Musicianship on that level is pretty much non-existant today.
Glenn was suppose to join Bob Segar's band. Apparently he played and sang on Ramblin Gamblin Man. Here is an archive pic of Bob Seger that was used in the documentary. This is as rock and roll as it gets! Notice the artistic intensity...

Walsh was added later and helped get them to more mainstream pop from their country rock roots. And yeah, he was hammered a lot. If one thing can be said for Frey and Henley they got Joe to clean up and start playing again.
