Hey guys , I am sure I want to place a custom order with Jackson. I will probably go the USA Select route since the wait time is reasonable as well as the pricing. My question is which dealer would you guys recommend and why ? Thanks in advance for any help

Whichever one has an upcoming build slot. Rainbow Guitars, Music Zoo. Call Scott at Rainbow or Jessica at the Zoo. Jess is cool as shit

Musiczoo - I've dealt with Tim there for 15 years and have ordered maybe 9 CS Jacksons through him, and he's been nothing but awesome. And you need to have a big dealer on your side for when the build goes awry.. LOL

I have gotten some decent deals from Music Zoo but, they sometimes wait a day or two extra to ship which is frustrating. Other than that, I've had good experiences with them.

Also good experience with the Music Zoo. Matt's Music is OK too. I can't get either to actually give me a quote for a custom Charvel. I assume the problem is with Charvel/Jackson, but kind of ridiculous.

They did the same to me. Matts Music actually went back and forth a few times, sometimes forwarding me emails from Charvel/Jackson asking questions, then nothing.

They don't seem particularly interesting in taking orders. When they were communicating, they were shooting down what I thought were not strange or difficult requests. And not even "we'll do it but it'll be expensive," just flat out "no, we won't do that."

I found Rainbow's responsiveness to be a little lacking so I just let it go and ordered something else

When it comes to dealing with some dealers the phone is your best option. I found MZ and Rainbow to be excellent on many occasions. You need to call the right people.

Yeah so far I have been in contact with a few of the dealers....Last week I went back and for with Matts Music, got one response from Jackson and then nothing, they dont seem to eager. CMC guitars answered one email and then nothing, I left them a phone message and nothing. I sent Rainbow guitars a couple message, no response.

Today I contacted Music Zoo (Jessica) I actually forgot they are a dealer ... Sent my spec sheet to them today and waiting to hear back from Jackson so we shall see how it goes.....Kinda strange that none of the dealers seem eager to make a sale. I have dealt with Jessica in the past at the Music Zoo ( I think she remembers me) so hopefully things move along with her help. Will keep you guys posted and list the specs of my order. Anymore info , experiences or suggestions are welcome, thanks!

I guess at one point rainbow guitars made one of the better playing guitar in my opinion... after getting that minty jackson sl2h from glip22 Gary which he was kind enough to sell it off to me... it feels great and the action is kinda different from the standard soloist...

I checked that out as it has one of the unsual redwood top in figure of 'brain' i checked it out using google search i found the exact picture and the guys from jackson selecting the tops... i guess its build specifically for rainbow guitars... and from there i know rainbow also has their own "custom select " just like what music zoo does...

I think the GTOM by rainbow guitars shines out according on the unfinished neck, one volume knob and a 3 way selector blade switch thou i felt i prefer the three way toggle better... i think the GTOM custom from rainbow guitars will have the same neck feel and settings i have on that exotic brainscan redwood top...

I am trying to get rainbow guitars to do the same GTOM but with the specific flame pattern i want and a toggle switch in contrary to their GTOM they offer...

I've dealt with her and TMZ many times, and have and nothing but good experiences. That's my first choice if I'm looking to buy something new.

Yeah Im in contact with Jessica at TMZ now and waiting to hear back from Jackson in response to her email to them, goona see how this goes for now. Basically waiting to see if they can do a certain color I like.

They'll do custom colours for an upcharge BUT don't rely / assume / trust that the colour you've seen a pic of on the web will be what you get. If you want something specific, you absolutely need to send them something physical in that colour, or you need to use something like the pantone colour swatches if it's a solid colour. Trust me on this... :)

Ahh that sucks...I sent them a picture from rainbow guitars website, the guitar was custom ordered from them and was built recently. They gave the color its own name as it was a custom mix.... I know I know , probably not gonna happen for me or they will mess it up hahahaha...fingers crossed. They havent even responded yet to say if they will do it.

In that case, you might be lucky and they will know how to do it again! But that said, you also need to figure that the colour it appears in the digital photo on your computer might not be exactly how it'll look in real life.

You make a lot of good points, thanks man...the things you mention are what Im a bit worried about. Makes me wonder if I should just go with snow white , no surprises there lol... I just want something a bit unique if Im spending the money on a custom and waiting the time for it to be built ya know. I would be taking a chance especially with the way Jackson operates.
