Jake E Lee appreciation thread!

Always one of my favorite players. Now this is a guitar solo!

That first Badlands album is Killer!

[Geo]

He had a fresh unique style at the time. A guitarist that stood out amongst the 80's clones.

I recall Jake doing a backward roll during a solo on stage in 1984 with Ozzy on the BATM tour.

He was awesome!

Thanks for posting.

One of my very favorite rock guitar players! Killer picking technique and a very unique approach to phrasing. Talk about a guitarist who plays with fire in his hands. Plus, he is one of my very favorite performers on stage. He is fun to watch play. He absolutely kills it on this video. As everyone knows, the solo on Bark at the Moon is one of the best of that entire decade and an all time top 10 for me.

Killer player - embodied the 80's "stuntman" licks, but always wrote to fit the song... great writer as as well as a killer showman. Glad I managed to catch him live on BATM, Ultimate Sin, with Badlands, & Red Dragon Cartel.
Huge influence on young me - definitely in my top 10.

Isn't that the show used for the "shreds" spoof?

Isn't that the show used for the "shreds" spoof?

Not sure.

It was some theatrics with Ozzy grabbing his hair and pulling him backwards during a solo.

Was pretty fucking cool at the time, man.

His playing on BATM and US is simply wicked! Faster than shit through a weasel and technical as fuck.

I saw Ozzy's '84 Bark at The Moon tour with Jake on guitar & Motley Crue opening. Motley Crue just dropped SATD. For all the awesomeness of that night, Jake's playing always stood out as one of the key highlights of the show to me, even after all these yrs - incredible player. I like seeing Jake get the props he well deserves. I understand recently he was injured helping a neighbor who was getting ripped-off or something..hope he's well. To Jake

I started playing in 1984/85 and Jake was one of my main inspirations. Absolutely love his playing.

I saw Jake with Ozzy, front row, right in front of him.
My buddy knew Ray Gillen and was compted 3 tickets by him to see Badlands at the Hollywood Palladium. So he took me and I tell you, as great as Jake was with Ozzy, which was unbelievable, he was even better with Badlands.
When Ray spotted Mike in the crowd he even mouthed Mike to him. We went backstage looking for him but we ran into him after the show just walking outside the Palladium. Ha. Cool dude, for sure.
