Loudest live guitar player

I saw ACDC front row on the "Blow Up Your Video" tour in 88' and was so loud. Two years ago took my daughter to see Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Filter and Ministry. Ministry was painfully loud to where we left and walked around the concession area until they were done.

Loudest concert I ever went to was Hall & Oates at the liberty science center overlooking the statue of liberty that was under construction.

5 story tall PA system.
I saw Buddy Guy through a five story tall P.A system in the 90's. Buddy had two tweed bassmans and Holt had two half stack 100w plexis. It was the best concert I've ever seen. There was even leather clad bikers tryna beat the crap out of some aged greaser who was drunk and couldn't keep his pants up. During the show some dude behind me was kicking my legs cause he thought a lawn chair was a reserve seat at a general admission concert while he caught acts on the side stage. He tried to bitch to security about us but they shut him down.

Yep, this checks out with my experiences 100%.

I've only seen ACDC at outdoor venues (The Gorge) and it was certainly loud, but not anywhere near as painful as Motorhead and Manowar. I am willing to bet they were a different animal in an indoor venue.
Yeah me and my best friend had morsels of our eardrums left at the show and then they rolled out the huge cannons to end "For Those About To Rock" and just shook the place.

I saw Motorhead open for Ozzy ( Blizzard of Oz tour, also with Joe Perry Project), indoors and I don't remember them being that loud in Springfield, MA civic center.

I remember seeing Pantera in a large club, after the Agora Ballroom closed or moved, in West Hartford, CT, on the Far Beyond Driven tour...definitely louder than the size of the club could handle. Bass and kick drums were like getting hit in the chest.

I saw Slayer at the original Agora in West Hartford, CT back in the mid-80s, probably Reign in Blood tour, and I remember that being very loud. I don't remember much else tho'

I saw VH open for Sabbath in '78 on the Never Say Die tour, and on VH2 tour...neither was louder than usual IIRC.

edit: Almost forgot, Robin Trower at the Palace in Waterbury, CT, late '70s or early 80s, it was very loud

Saw vai in Philly back in the late 90s and my ears were blown out by the end of the night, definitely the loudest concert I've ever been to, second loudest was Kotzen at a little dinner theater type venue in Maryland, great show but way too damn loud.
I forgot about how loud Vai was during a tour probably 20 years ago at Bogarts in Cincinnati. There were warning signs posted on the way in saying that this is a loud rock show! Vai was handing out cotton balls to people up front after the first couple of songs.

Not sure about who the loudest guitar player was but the loudest show was a Megadeth show in 2004 on the System Has Failed Tour at the Aragon Brawl Room in Chicago. We were on the main floor and we just couldn't handle how loud it was, then it looked like it was snowing and we realized pieces of the plaster ceiling of the old theater was shaking loose and falling. We were like holy shit!.....we had to move off the main floor to make tolerable. It was totally crazy, not only was it way too loud the mix was shit and you could barely hear anyone, it wasn't a great show. Oh well I got the T-shirt.

Ritchie Blackmore on the Perfect Strangers tour takes the cake for me. My ears rang for a month. Seriously loud.

Napalm Death at the majestic theater in Detroit. So loud the ceiling was pissing plaster onto the merchandise table. Also bls at harpos
I'm glad I wasn't the only who got plastered by plaster at a rock show!:p We new the theater was a shithole and being in the trades we as a group didn't see it as a great thing. Since we couldn't hear shit anyway we moved off the main floor towards the lobby to survive the DB assault and possible ceiling cave in...............:shocked::LOL:
