I was looking forward to this a lot more before I heard him on TMS...still hoping that was an anomoly.

Everybody but like two guys stink it up on that show. It's the black hole of talent.

Yeah, I wouldn't put too much stock in TMS performance.

I REALLY hope you're right, cuz even I could've done better than he did on that show.... and I am a HUGE Jake fan! In his prime I liked him more than Randy. I get crucified every time I admit to that, but wutever. Point is, I hope he brings it with this new band.

Ya, what the hell is with TMS and guitar players? It seems like John 5 is the only one I could think of who actually sounded decent, and they've had DiMartini, Lynch and Lee on it!

Who dares blaspheme against His Holiness?

Wow disappointed again! I am one of Jake's biggest fans but all of his solo albums sucked, had no soul to the writing and this furthers the soulless crap. I guess when Ray Gillen died so did Jake's desire to make that kind of harder edged rock music.

That song in the clip sounded like some cheesy wannabe 80's hairband during the 80's that desperately needed radio play.

So I imagine it's finally official for me I can only enjoy Jake's guitar abilities from Ozzy into Badlands, at least he gave us that.

here are the first tracks to see the light of day .... skip to 42mins and 154mins

I'm digging what I hear...war machine is so sabbathy its awesome
Geez, the pre-chorus of the first one (Deceived) the singer is trying to sound like Ozzy so much it's crazy. It grew on me as it went on - pretty good I think…

Yeah - War Machine sounds like a Sabbath song…

Not quite sure where Jake is going with this, but his playing is definitely considerably diminished...

Sounds like he's obsessed with Ozzy to me.........

Hmmmmmm........ First song he is basically ripping off himself on Bark at the Moon. Second one he is nearly ripping off Sabbath as well for the main riff.

Agreed I heard bark at the Moon and Ozzy on the vocals huge

Many men should appreciate this

You guys are funny

Sounded 10,000 times better than I was expecting

I like it

Cool, I liked his Badlands writing more, but glad to hear Jake is back to recording again.

That's Darren Smith (the drummer from Harem Scarem) singing. My bass player is friends with him and told me he had the gig like 6 months ago.
Good rock singer. He sings Paul Stanley better than Paul Stanley live. I hope some of the album has a Badlands flavor to it.

Gotta agree here. A lot of the samples on Amazon sound pretty interesting. Whether it's good in it's entirety, no idea. But I don't hate it. Probably the fattest his guitar has ever sounded and I like how out of control it sounds at times. A lot of War Machine reminded me of Cathedral (still influenced by Sabbath of course) and I dug the "industrial" flavored backing vocal on it.
