I own a TSL100 and my rythm guitarist had a DSL100. FWIW, the TSL is not as bad of an amp as people make it out to be. It's an OK tube amp but I agree I like the tone of the DSL more. I am the first and only owner of the TSL100 and I bought it new back when I was also looking for a head with 3 channels and 3 independent EQs. However, I quickly realized I basically never switched off from the main tone setting I was using so it was pretty useless that I bought the TSL100. In retrospect, I wish I bought a DSL50. One positive over the DSL is mine is a 2006 model and I believe my rythm guitarist's DSL was a 2003 or 2004 and it had some issues blowing tubes and having questionable reliablity while my TSL100 has been rock solid for all these years. Another plus on both JCM2000 amps is you can bias them yourself easily.

If I was doing it again, I would get a DSL50.. Or get the EVH50 watt 5153.

I've been looking at buying a splawn quickrod for the past year or so but I havent pulled the trigger. I need to decide what head shell, color and if I want the B+ voltage option. Even once I get the splawn, I'm going to keep the TSL100 because it's been so reliable for me and it will be my backup..

Tone is all in the fingers anyway so whatever :lol: :LOL:
 
Well ive already paid for half of it so im getting one.. its a 2006 so hopefully it doesnt have any major issues. I have already been in touch with Rob diantonio of Jaded Faith Mods who e-mailed me almost as soon as I posted that I was getting one on the MTS forum, He makes a whole line of modded MTS modules but also does quite a bit of custom amp modding ive seen probably 30 marshalls that have been modded by him on his FB page and I have never heard anyone say anything about his work that is the least bit unhappy. He said he could do about anything i want done to the TSL so if there is anything i want changed he's my man...
