Sup guys, wanted to ask about this beast i got offered. Its a JCM 800 with 4 inputs, built in 1989 (at least thats what the seller tells me, didnt know Marshall made these in late '80s) and its a 50 watt 1987 model. It looks exactly like a JCM 800 in the front but with 4 inputs, NO master volume and in the back it says "MK II".

Do you know anything about these? How much are they worth? Its in great shape and completely "unmodded", no repairs or issues whatsoever.

Thanks, i appreciate

Hard to say, but I wouldn't pay more than 1000 for one. Probably more like 8-900. They're not the greatest sounding Non Master they made so you'll be looking to spend money to mod it or convert it 2204 specs. Have you played it? If it sounds good to you the above, as always, is IMO.

Just for reference, a 100 watt version in for sale at a store for $999. Private party should be cheaper

Thats actually very very helpful guys. I thought it would be more expensive to be honest. I still have to try it, but now i know its no holy grail.

No holy grail but better than any RI 1987/1959 since the 70s. The fact that they have original Drakes vs the transformers since the early 90s means it has that advantage over the RI NMVs IMO. I had an '86 1959 that just crushed, and I'd take it over 3-4 late 70s NMVs that I had as well. Ended up sending it out for a mod and it crushed that much better. Any of those JCM 800 NMVs are a 800-1000 amp in good condition.

I'd snap that thing up in a second, they are not gain monsters, but they are great sounding amps IMO
They take pedals like a champ

Is this one in NJ? If so I just played it and I'm still thinking about getting it. I just have no use for it. The store let me dime it through a GB loaded 4X12. It was extremely close to VH in a box but it was ungodly loud!!! Rolled the volume back to 6 and it was AC/DC or old Kiss in a box.
These 4 hole 800's are voiced like old Superleads. They don't sound like a 2204. I thought it was a killer amp!!!
