Picked up this 800 cab last week for a good price. Decided to redo the grill cloth. It's not perfect but came out pretty good. I'm actually pretty impressed with the old g12t-75s. I don't remember them sounding this good. Granted the ones I played were newer. Anyways took a couple hours. I dig it.

That looks great to me! Love that look on Marshall cabs.

Looks great man. I’m about to recloth my 2x12. Yours is definitely a more difficult job. What would you say was the biggest challenge?

Well my biggest challenge was a stripped speaker bolt! Lol. I had to bust out a drimmel to get it. It's a pretty straight forward process. Pulling all the staples out was time consuming. Finding the holes for the logo was a bit of a pain in the ass!

What year is the cab? I have an 84' with the old vented g12-75's. They sound more like g12-65's than the newer 75's.

I stripped the tolex on mine, sanded it and stained and cleared it.

I believe an 86. They certainly have a decent mid range. The highs are quite nice as well.

The cab makeover looks great!

I have an '84 too (the one in my avatar) and agree. I'd like to see that, one day I'll find a beater and do this to it.

I’ve got a Bogner cabinet I’ve been considering changing the grill cloth to the large check. Where did you end up buying it?

Nice! I have an 87 1960B I bought brand new. It's beat up pretty good from years of gigging. I have been thinking of redoing it but not sure if it will kill the mojo.

That came out great!
I've wanted to do that to mine for the longest time, thanks for the motivation

Fantastic job! Those checkerboard cloth grills on Marshall’s are my favorite look for hat cab.

Well done!

Here’s the cab. Sanded, stained it and poly cleared it. Added a Soldano logo with two sided tape, no holes drilled and use it with my SLO.

That looks good! I dig the high gloss finish!
