Only one dislike is the design of these amps, with the blue and black tolex, they don't look that good, just a detail though...

It looks like they offer alternate baffles on their site:

I really dig the black metal grill. Looks really nice! I'd be curious to see how the Friedman-modded JCA20 sounds in comparison to the FJA-modded one. Jerry does good work. I also like that he can put in a OT tranny with selectable ohms. Bums me out that the JCA20 appears to be 16ohm only, unless I'm missing something.

Thanks for the support here, gents. We are young, and small, so I figured we can try something like this and see how it goes.

There should be a review from Premier Guitar coming soon, plus we will try to do some A/B comparisons internally - might take a short while.

Anyway, please let me know if you have other ideas like this which can set JCA apart from the common amp company... doug@jetcityamplification.com

Just wished the 20 came with a loop already, but alas, just wishing.

I wished the amp would come with a factory loop as well... 200 dollars for a loop in an amp of this price is outrageuos... Its like you are paying more than 40% of the price of the new amp on an fx loop!!!

Anyway I really like the idea of Dave modding these amps, I hope he does the higher wattage heads as well, that I would buy...

agreed. I understand that it is probably worth the work Dave has to put in, but wish it was only 100 bucks rather then 2. Figure the amp new costs 299-333, 200 bucks for an efx loop is almost like buying a whole new amp.
