Need some input and feedback. I had the opportunity to be part of an effort to expand both gear and talent available in the more rural part of Japan that I live in. I’ve been here for 2 years now and am already pretty immersed in the gear markets and finally making connections. My wife’s cousin is a riding pedal builder her in Japan. Just since I’ve been here I’m seeing his stuff in alot of the larger stores. He knows we can talk tech and we have mutual respect. Recently I had him and a regional manager for one of my favorite music stores, over to my house to jam for several hours.

This led to in invite to a recording session for my cousins pedals. They were having an American artist who’d need here for over 20 years come in with his 52 Les Paul conversion and they thought it would be cool for me to bring my modded Marshall.

It was a pretty elaborate setup with multiple cameras snd mics but impromptu from a playing standpoint. And I was introduced to a few people helping.

We all then talked about doing more formal channel based releases were we can demo new products and local artist with each episode. We haven’t release any official video yet, but it sounds like a fun project. Last night I was tagged in IG posts about a coming soon video and I saw some links to the other guys helping out. One younger kid stood to me when visiting their socials. He was doing the video and sound recording. Very humble and unassuming. We would pickup the guilts and play modestly to adjust levels but no showing off.

That said, in my humble opinion, the kid is way too talented to be making the low wages of a store clerk. He just needs som visibility and opportunity. Some of his style is kinda eccentric and technical which I typically hint get impressed with but I find that he balances it with melody.

I’d love to help the kid out, but don’t know where to start. I think we need to get him on video and do an episode in English as well with him being highlighted. I’m open to suggestions.
