Just picked it up today

Badass amp from Jim Wigle. This one has an extra 12ax7 gain stage with a pull knob on back. Also a resonance knob I believe on back. I believe the stock version is a little more stripped down. The channels can be jumpered via pulling loudness 1knob. Master on far left. 50-100 watt and loop. Also a cool feature you can plug a footswitch into any input and it will cut a little gain and volume so it becomes a footswitching amp perfect! I cant wait to turn this up at a live show and pummel. It really wallops

I heavily researched getting one back around 08. Basically a swiss army knife of marshall tones in a pretty cool looking package (if you're into the whole purple marshall thing). Only problem was I think it kind of became irrelevant when Dave Friedman started making something very similar. Instead, all the tones were footswitchable with a clean channel and loop, arguably sounded better, as well as more gain on tap.

Mine is lime green and appears newer. Mine also has an extra preamp tube that is activated with a pull knob on back. I do like the clip of the friedman modded purplexi on youtube but that is 80% wigle tone. Mine sounded nice and punchy with plenty of gain. Hopefully I can AB box the various inputs as there are lots of sounds in there. The build quality looked great. Was very quiet for high gain amp. Mine has a loop.

I had one. Made for Lynch. When I got it....it was modded by Mark Cameron. Sounded great!
It was the top short box he was plugged into.
Here is some pics of my oldie...its been passed around quite a bit here.

halebox, I didn't mean to say they aren't good or anything. I think they just kind of fell by the wayside. To me, they sound more true to a vintage hot rodded Marshall than the Friedman. Both good, just different flavors.

Mailman, that's the one that had me interested. Very cool amp. I did some more research and ended up getting a nicely modded 79' Jmp instead. Been my go to amp since. ;)

I had this one, not a high gain head, more like 2203 levels of gain with the master activated. Jimmy is a nice guy.

Wow, I dug the end of that clip, really nice, really crunchy with all the right frequencies, fat mids & punchy...sweet!

Yeah towards the end the tone is smoking. That's the kind of high gain I dig

Played one a while back and didn't love it. Meh at best. My Straub Cantus smoked it :)

here was the one I had,if memory serves me right, it was mailman's and I believe he sold it to Ned, who had Friedman mod it. and I bought it from him, it was a nice amp. Then out of the blue a guy messaged me with a killer cash offer and I took it. it was a great amp. this video is 5 years old.

Yeah that one sounds killer! Hmm mailman said it was Cameron modded then ned had Friedman mod it? It sounds like a cameron

I talked to Dave Friedman personally about that amp, it was a Kitchen sink mod.

Yes. It ended up being sent to Friedman by the guy I sold it to. It was a Cameron mod when I had it. Uncle neddy sent it to Dave for kitchen sink mod.

I looked at one of these a long time ago. At the time the clips I saw were all low to medium gain. I NEVER imagined that these things could sound like the clips above. Mailmain, any clips of yours with the Cameron Mod? Hope all is well brutha!

The one I'm getting has an extra gain stage tube via pull knob on back. I will post clips when I get it in May.

Pennies on the dollar. 1980 Gibson Custom shop Les Paul for $800??
One of the many deals. It was great. Then came Rig talk.
Never knew half these amps existed.
