Was cool when he played and used an SG.
First time I'd seen him without a Strat.

One of those Marshall’s is on reverb for $350k

Man, I liked how the interviewer started out doing a typical late night talk show interview but then saw Jimi’s vibe and kinda just started talking. Jimi was probably high in that interview but he seemed like he had a lot to going on in his head. Wish he could’ve really sat down and just talked what was going on. I liked how Dick Caveat brought up his military service in response to the anthem controversy back then.
dude seemed way ahead of his time.

Every hippy in America watched his show.
The artists could tell quick he was being real with them and not just 'trying to fit in'.

Listen to the casual way this opens. Cavett's just sitting there like one of the band.

Dick Cavett is a class act. I rarely missed an episode. His interview with Groucho Marx is epic!

I can't believe i sat through 20 seconds of that Stephen Stills video.

I agree with the point about Cavett though. Wish late night talk show hosts werent all completely british cigarettes nowadays.

This video is great. ?

I was a massive Hendrix fan when I first started playing guitar in the 80’s. I rarely play anything by Hendrix these days outside of Voodoo Chile.
The groove in those 1st position E riffs are so f'n killer.
Most just lay on the stock lick but there's a lot more to it and the way he incorporates the E/Bsus is killer!

I used to own a VHS tape with interviews of Hendrix's hometown friends and ex-girlfriends..it was seriously so damn funny you'd have to pause the tape.

I freakin' love hearing him talk and make those crazy faces when least expected in this rad interview.
