Just saying that the Fender thru Fender thing for endorsees isn't really an issue.

I remember reading that on the old HCAF. I showed it to my wife who was a big JM fan at the time.

I was the one that added the amps in quotations above. I'm saying that clearly given the amps they've used, playing a fender guitar through a fender amp is evidently not a requirement to be a fender endorsee. And of course they have used fender amps too, just not exclusively.

John Mayer is now using a Milkman amps recreation of the Fender Twin (blackface). Technically, he's still a Fender guy.

Oh I agree its definitely not an issue. David Gilmour probably doesnt use a fender amp either. The guitar is what sells anyway. Not so much the amp. At least from what ive seen
