I noticed the other day that Johnny Hiland left PRS and went with EB/MM. I also understand he's under different management. People do it, but it's rare that folks leave a company with which they have a signature model.

I haven't read anything about it but I'm curious what the story is. :)

None of them played PRS. :)

The major part of the prs fan base do NOT listen to those guys

And they listen to Hiland? He seemed a bit of an odd choice for a sig guitar. I mean, he's obviously a killer player but I don't think I can honestly say I've ever heard one of his tracks, yet I've been aware of him for a long time...

Anyway, he's using the stock Silhouettes I believe.

Lynch and Schon both have played PRS guitars in the past, Schon more so than Lynch. And give me a PRS Cusom 24 anyday over that ugly jigsaw Ivebeenhead that Petrucci played.

I'm still recovering from a Modern Eagle i played the other day. And i played a bunch or Suhr's, Tylers, a Trussart, and some other guitars i never heard of that cost more than $2500......the Modern Eagle blew them all away IMHO. Of course the $5500 price tag did suck though. :( I mean shit, if i was going to blow $6000 on a guitar I'd rather have PRS make it rather than Gibson or Fender.

I think a Silhouette would suit him better than a PRS anyways honestly.

Exactly!! Good friend of mine was over and we had all 4 of my Suhr moderns out and he has a SUhr exotic that we were playing the crap out of for about 3 hours, then the last hour or 2 we played our PRS ME's and immediately came to the same conclusion...only thing is that they dont have floyds on them so if you are into heavy wiggle stick action there is just no way...the PRS trem is ok, but definitely no dive bomb action happening there for sure! The guitars definitely have a much more solid feel to them though. I dont really think that PRS as a company is no where near as good as it was 7 - 8 years ago, much more corporate now, but they still make a hell of a guitar in the Modern Eagle.

Here it is. This thing plays better than it looks.

But it took $5500 to make a great guitar, I would own the hood with a monster John Deere with PTO and 4 wheel steer for less

Man that is a shitload of money.

On another note, Marty Friedman is now with PRS.

Marty, even though he is my hero, is just as bad as Dave Mustaine.

"OMGZ, this is the best guitar/amp I've ever used!!"

Fuck them all.

Marty and Dave should still be playing black USA Jacksons through Bradshaw/VHT rigs.

It takes that much to make a Suhr exotic no? How about a regular old LP with a FLoyd and throw Neil Schon's name on and charge $6000.

He was playing Gibson guitars not too long ago after his Ibanez contract ended but before PRS picked him up.

I'm guessing Gibson is the best guitar he's ever played.

Seriously, Marty has called the following the best ever:

Crate
Engl
Celestion (I'd love to see a signature Emi from him like Lynch)
Ibanez
Jackson
Fractal
(PRS)*
(Gibson)*

*wait for it, I'm sure it will happen.
