Just did not dig the tone. Listen to his solos carefully.. The amp definitely chokes out when he is trying to play faster riffs. Its like he hits a note and then the note decays with absolutely no hangtime!!
I just kinda figured that guy didn't use a shitload of distortion and that's what I was hearing? I'll have to throw it in the CD player and listen again.![]()
I think Mark Cameron told me that but Im not sure...

I'm pretty sure that I told you that. I met Marq the first time at the Charvel shop in '82. Grover Jackson was taking myself and a friend on a factory tour and he asked me if I wanted to meet "Ozzy's new guitar player". He introduced us to Marq and he showed off a couple of Charvel strat heads that Grover and he indicated Ozzy was paying for. One was a red/white bullseye. He was cranking the guitars through a Plexi Marshall that was ungodly loud and he was a freakin' badass player. Lotsa really intricate tapping, just off the charts. Kinda took Eddie a bit futher than I'd heard him get at the time... Anyway, then Marq goes, "Hey you wanna hear a new Ozzy tune we're working on? This one is called 'Bark At The Moon'" and then he proceeded to play basically an identical intro-verse-chorus to what Jake did on the album. At the time Torien looked like a hispanic EVH. He had an identical dark brown EVH haircut (I bring this up 'cause he ended up trying to look like Roth in BB

Anyway... Torien never ended up getting the Ozzy gig and the next time I saw him was 6 months or so later playing with Ratt in the Warren position. I had heard there was a drug problem, but with Ozzy at the time that seems almost impossible. He was playing that same red/white bullseye Charvel strat head that he was getting that day at the factory... Then he was out of Ratt and Warren was in and I didn't hear anything about him again until I saw the "Roth" version of Torien with Bullet Boys. It was hard to believe he was the same guy...
Many have disputed me on the first part and what I heard and saw at the Charvel factory that day, but I have no reason to not tell the truth and I saw what I saw and heard what I heard...
