They were awesome to us. Played to a great crowd.

Another note the 34s weren't shit by any means.
Stryper stole our PA :(

LOL not them, but the venue did. We played a separate stage in the same venue as Stryper last night, and since Stryper's show is so loud, they needed extra PA gear. The stage we play usually has both side wash speakers and 4-5 monitors. Last night there was no side wash and only 2 monitors.

Do u feel anything weird w the fat switch on the lead ch?
I don't use it because the lead is thick and the resonance gets you more lowend. Th fat switch fattens the preamp too much, causing a strange feel. Like your pick doesn't dig in as fast and the response struggles, like a fat kid running a quarter mile.

I think what you're describing is what I felt when playing through a Bogner Ecstasy 101b. Sort of a "sag" to your playing like there's almost a small delay, but I definitely mentioned at the time that it was a very 'fat' sound. Maybe the "Fat" switch sort of replicates that??

You must try KT77s through your xxx2.
It is the tube those amps should have had from the factory.

JSX/XXX2 all the way. put low gain tubes in it and it makes the crunch channel sound like a classic 50 while still having plenty of gain in the ultra channel. not to mention the fully independent EQ.

running JJ 6L6's and JJ 803S(V1), 832(V2&V3) and 83S(V4) preamp tubes.

running it into a 2x12 cab with texas heats.

great articulate metal tone from the ultra channel
great classic rock and blues from the crunch channel
great surf rock/rockabilly tone from the clean channel

for me, this is truly the all-in-one amp.
