I didn't think my old Ultralead's channel 3 was that tight actually, certainly didn't match the internet forum "facts" about it. Channel 2 however, was extremely tight and great for fast rhythm playing.
On a sidenote:
I think tightness is overrated and the somewhat linear "tighter is better" mantra you see on metal oriented forums doesn't always apply. I've owned/played some amps that had a reputation for tightness that just sounded plain bad or uninspiring to me. Maybe that's where the "sterile" comments up above come from perhaps.![]()
