There is a video on YouTube for Wolfies song Distance. Lots of great video of him growing up with Eddie, made me get choked up missing my dad. It's a damned good song too. But it was another tune he played later that rocked hard that really caught my attention. Hope it gets out there soon. I really hope Wolfie has some success. And I really want one of those basses he plays.

I can't find it so maybe it got pulled?

It is to be released by HS today though so I will look later.

TBH I thought the song was vanilla and very standard for what is out there now. Heard a bit of phaser in there which was cool though. But I think the video and obviously the message his dad left him at the end were extremely sad/moving. As a Tribute I think it is great and very fitting but I guess musically, it didn't move me alone. It needed the video and back story. That's ok though, there's no shame in that. I don't think that is him singing though is it? I also would like to hear more of the rocking tunes..no question he is a valid musician, never really understood the hate for his bass playing or questioning his ability. I also don't expect it to sound like VH.

Loved all the video of EVH as a dad... teared up a little. Musically it reminds me of Goo Goo Dolls style of pop which is ok I guess... I didn't care for the programmed drumming sound... it sounded like a vst to me. I think it's cool he is going by Mammoth, guessing it is a throwback to the band's name before they changed it to Van Halen.

man that opening scene of WVH ascending the steps and his dad talking to him hit me like a ton..... GD't... it you have kids, or older parents that you spent a lot time with as a kid...that shit is real man. time goes so damn quickly.

i thought it was a good tune, ...it does have a GooGoo Dolls vibe about it

Yup totally dude. Seems like everyday I tell my wife that time is going too fast lately.

The other song he played is called "You're to blame". It's Wolfie doing everything. Very sellable hard rock. Good solo too. Tho I am a thrash freak,I am proud of Wolfie writing some IMO good hard rock. I wish him well.

New song starts at 51:10 in the interview posted above.

The phone message at the end though.

Yeah that was heavy, a very personal thing to share with the world. It shows how much he loved his son and I think the world sort of needed to hear that too. Closure in a way for fans..

I have to admit I am downright impressed by his voice. That might be his best instrument. We all know from playing in bands or trying to record ourselves, vocalists are always the weak link. They either have to have "something" or they have to be able to sing. He's got something there.

Thanks for posting that.

Didn't realize that was him signing until just now though. Wow. Great voice. Did have a Goo Goo Dolls or Foo Fighters light rock vibe but I liked it. If I had heard it on the radio and didn't know it was Wolfie I would probably have dismissed it. But video and the voice mail at the end is a tear jerker.
