I'd like to know if they were hertage or not also . I'm considering 2 of those in an X pattern with v30's in my 1960AV .George's & Ralphies clips rock !!
Hey John,

Mine are reg RI GB's on these clips. I just got so reg H30's and loaded them in my 2-12 cab. i may have to drag a JVM home today and goof around with them. I've been using the cab the past few gigs trying to get them broken in. They are really dark sounding speakers and have way more low end than V30's. V30's are really dark too so the only thing I think you would gain is some low end. I still prefer the GB"s though, they have a nice cutting top end that I like.

75's actually sound pretty good with the JVM (once they are broken in anyway).

Thanks George !! I need something to break up that v30 harshness in my cab . Maybe that x pattern with greenies or H30's would do it . Do you feel the H30 have the same qualities in the mids that v30's have ?
Thanks
JB
ps. were you affected by the flooding ?

No luckily the water only made it up to our sidewalk and the house was about a block away from the water. Alot of our friends were not so lucky though. I spent yesterday moving tanning beds out of our friends tanning salon, they got a ton of water in their place! Those things are HEAVY!!!!!!!!

No I don't think the mids in the H30's are the same as V30's. They seem smoother sounding so far. On their own in my cab they are fairly dark and the mids are focused abit lower than I care for so far. That could be the cab though too. Its a semi open back 2-12. The CL80's had that lower mid tubby thing too.

Thanks for the info George ..Glad your ok from the flood waters .
Take it easy on your back bro !!

I just got back from playing the JVM through an ENGL 4x12 with v30s and h30s and was not digging it, imo either h30s or some good broken in GBs for the JVM.

FWIW the JVM was designed around 75s so good figure :D

I will also admit that I am not a big fan of mixing speakers, just me though.

will the jvm sound anywhere close to ralph's clip through a 1960 cab ? I could sleep well at night with the tone in that clip

I used an old 80's Marshall 1960 b cab but it won't sound like that clip unless the cab is loaded with h30's.
The 75's that come stock with the 1960's are way to scooped sounding

My 1960 cabinet is loaded with the 75s -- I gotta get rid of those. Did you use the plain reissue H30s or the Hertiage reissue H30s?

Mark!

I used the plain old h30 Re-issues. I actually love those speakers. They have a vibe all of there own.
FWIW, The heritage h30's are brighter sounding then regular the re-issues.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that George's clips always rock!!

So to follow up, I scored a JVM and four G12H30s -- they should be here in about a week. I have high hopes for this one!
