Damn, this is exactly what i wanted to do. Profile a loaded down plexi style amp (mojave) and use it with a matrix gm50 and real cab. ( I can transport my real tone without taking a head, rack, power amp etc...)

Yes, I undestand I can still do this very thing, but Kemper recommends doing it while the cab is plugged in and using a Direct box in between the head and cab. I wasn't aware you could put a regualr cheap direct box in between you head and cab..but there must be better more expensive ones that can take a powered signal?

regardless, I'd still prefer to not have a cab on. I want the hotplate set to load, no cab, so that i may profile the plexi "all the way up" without having to be loud (REALLY LOUD). From what I understand, I can still do this, but put a DI box in between head and hotplate...right?

Or, can I just take the line out from the Mojave (it has a line out post power) ... or am I going to run into this same thing that Kemper says to avoid?

I just profiled my Peters Gryphon using the Slave(post power) out and it turned out FANTASTIC! Mind you it was loud enough but it only lasted about 15 minutes counting refining, actually make that half an hour, I had to name and tag the profile :(

Well you sure can but I've never uploaded a rig, do I just export to my usb put it on my PC and send the profile to you? If so, shoot me your e-mail!

so you used the slave out on your head
and did not use a dummy load, so you had the amp up loud
That is what Kemper recommends I guess, but shouldn't I be able to do the same thing via a hotplate load, but use the line out from my mojave?

You can do it with the dummy load but I wanted to have the load of a speaker cabinet itself on the transformer to emulate what the amp would feel like at that volume. I'm guessing there'd be a difference in feel between the two methods.

Yes, as long as your DI can handle a speaker level output. You will still want to go "thru" to the cabinet so your head will have a load. The DI will ultimately still color your tone, depending on the DI. My experience is a DI at speaker level will bring it down to line level but sound thinner and weaker.

Seems you should be able to.

Thanks for the profile, it sounds great. I used to have a Gryphon and your profiles nails it!
You should load it up on the rig exchange at the Kemper site for sure.
