Been in a 70s rock kick lately which has led me back down the blues highway.

Gettin bored with the metal 7-8 string chugga chugga stuff right now. Ive never liked Hendrix. Hell even SRV doesnt hit me where it it hits everyone else.

But KWS...thats my boy right there. Love his blues stylings. Im Not into pop music at all.i love Clapton, but hate his pop stuff.

The first KWS tune i ever heard...

Just watched this...

And it gave me goosebumps.

Anyone else a fan?

He played Rock Fest here in Wi like 13 years ago, and the band I was in played one of the beer tents. Back then the local bands all got to pick an artist to do a meet n greet which was pretty cool..we got to meet Robert Plant the year before. That year we picked Kenny..cool guy but MAN was he wasted...I think he has conquered his demons now though. Great player.

Now that I'm limited to playing slide, I've really gotten into KWS. He's an amazing slide player and really unique and melodic with it. I've been listening to a lot of his slide stuff and watching his technique and it's really helped me understand some things and have something to strive for.

I saw him live a few years back, the guy stole the show at the Hendrix experience tour date I attended. Amazing amazing player.. like a SRV on steroids. So good. I am one of the ones who appreciates the entire SRV package though. He had chops and a great voice. Also remember that without SRV, you probably wouldn't of had KWS. As much as he is his own man, you know he got his foundation from SRV. He started out as a bit of a clone and just went up from there. His tone is also killer.

My mistake was listening to SRV and other blues greats before KWS

He's still way better than Mayer and Bonamassa though

As a long time SRV listener I believe this is true but it's too late for me to listen to him through different ears; those first two albums ruined it. He always did have good tone though.

Kenny is an awesome player!! Seen him twice and he kicked ass!!

Kenny Wayne shepherd is the reason I started taking fuzz and modulation effects seriously.

Love his playing! He has some great overtone technique.....almost speaking to your ears. Love it!

I dig the Premiere Guitar Rig Rundown.
Fender, Dumble. Great tones.

Man, he's one of my favorite modern blues players! Ever since I heard "Blue On Black" I was hooked. Way before anyone ever heard of him, there was an article somewhere that I read on blues players that were the "new breed". There were about ten guys listed and among them was KWS and Johnny Lang. I never really got into Johnny Lang's style, but KWS was pretty soulful. Later on, he started getting radio airplay, and I remember telling my friend "I've been listening to this album for three years already!"

I haven't heard much from him since "The Place You're In", and I remember on that album he was trying to get into the "rock" arena, but he's a great blues guitarist. I think he released "Trouble Is..." When he was like 17 or something...

Guess why I started looking for a KoT in the first place...
The only reason I'm not more actively looking for a TS-808HW is because I keep reading how there's about 40$ woth of components in there, case included

Lots of love for KWS. Im gonna check oht the PG rig video. If i get gas, its all your fault.

I saw KWS live about 14 years ago. He put on a good show, but I actually thought the local blues band guitarist, who was the opening act, played better. KWS didn't seem as hungry so to speak as the opening band.
