My favorites are Out of The Silent Planet, Gretchen, Faith Hope Love, Fourth Album, Dogman plus Tape Head, Ear Candy and just barely Mr. Bulbous. I'll say that even though they are my favorite band... their other albums besides the ones I mentioned are just plain weak. IMHO they haven't put out anything lately that lives up to what they used to do. Sad coming from such a good band.

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree. To me, Ogre Tones and XV are a return to Tapehead/Dogman/Ear Candy form with XV outdoing Ogre Tones. The following tracks really stand out for me:

- XV -
Pray
Alright
Move
I Don't Know
Stuck
Go Tell Somebody
Love and Rockets

- Ogre Tones -
Alone
Stay
Hurricane
Fly
If

The other tracks are good too, but the above really stand out. Man! Listening to "Move" from XV right now... it really kicks ass! :rawk: I haven't seen these guys live since before Please Come Home Mr. Bulbous. I'd really like to see them perform some of these songs. :m17:

I respect your opinion as well and too each his own. I've been into them since Gretchen came out. I've seen them live so many times I've lost count and my first show was for the self titled tour. Ty is my favorite guitar player hands down. While their latest CD's were a step back in the right direction... they just don't write the same caliber songs they used to... all IMHO and YMMV of course.

Dogman is probably the heaviest thing they've done, and a very solid disc from beginning to end.

I might offend some people here (not my intention), but I'd stay away from Please Come Home Mr. Bulbous & Manic Moonlight.

Weird... MM would be one of my top recommendations. :) Outside of that... pretty much what everyone else said.

I haven't heard Ogre Tones, but haven't heard exactly glowing reviews of it. XV is OK... but pales in comparison to their older work IMO.
