Hey guys...very happy to say that we recently delivered these two EMB Pedal Wahs to Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo to checkout during their break in touring. Kirk's is the black chassis/green LED one (the black chassis and green control box is exclusive to him) and Robert's is the white chassis/blue LED. Fingers crossed :D

Those look pretty awesome! Now Kirk can find his wah even if the lights go out.

Nice dude. That'd be a big endorsement for you guys. Congrats!

Kirk uses a wah????

Classic

But the colors exclusive to Kirk? C'mon man he's not that inflated I'm sure.

That green on black has got to be the coolest setup ever.

No offense but I can't picture another combo looking better than that. The public is going to want those colors.

I guess if that's a deal breaker for the endorsement then obviously you wouldn't risk it.

However if they're on board and are going to rep these then it's at least worth discussing IMO.

Best of luck on the deal and these pedals indeed look amazing

I'm confused. Is it their sig stuff or are they "checking it out?"

Congrats! Hope they like them. I agree that the black with green is sick. I now know what my life is missing: a wah pedal that matches my UV7BK.

So these are the same as the EMB rack wahs, just as a pedal? This is pretty cool stuff.

EDIT: OMG, on your facebook page, I saw a price of 400 Euros?

those look super cool... but ..... that lip by the heel would be really annoying for me

Read up on it.

I just did and wow I'm floored.

They seem right. There is nothing like these. Very nice sounding pedals.

It appears these guys have worked with Kirk in the past and I don't see how anyone couldn't dig the sounds.

For what you get $500 honestly isn't that bad plus they look badass too.

Thanks! We love the black/green combo too but haven't made a batch of black chassis yet. Right now, we've made dark grey (sold out), light grey, blue, and green.

They're just trying them out right now :)

So the black/green combo, if Kirk makes a deal does that mean we can't order that combo? Would definitely be a disappointment, but there's still a good number of options that I'd be happy. I'm between a black or white chassis, not sure what LED though.
Huge congrats to you though, even if they're just testing them it's still a huge step and you definitely deserve it. Can't wait to see what else is in store for you in the future.

Whose idea was it to place both the input and output jacks on the same side?

That's a real head scratcher.

I play right handed and like to use the wah with my left foot. With my right foot, I sometimes ended up shifting the guitar around when I was using the wah, which I found annoying.

So an input on the left would actually help mount it on the left of the board, but the outputs on the same side, which then defeats the benefit. Best place is the put the ins/outs on top.

But in general I've learned to live with having the wah as the first pedal on the right and just using my left foot for it.

They are based on the original EMB Audio Remote Wah but it uses a completely redesigned circuit. There were several components which were hard to obtain 20+ years ago and today it's virtually impossible. So Matt, the original designer, went back and worked on the design for about 3 years until he got it right using modern components. The results are excellent, if I may say so =) He first brought over a prototype for a new wah several years ago, when we were about to release the 2012 Reissue Remote Wahs...essentially to get my approval, lol. That early design was awesome. What ended up in the Pedal Wah is just killer!! Tons of new features, true bypass, no wah pots/switches to wear out, etc.

Yeah it's 400 Euros which is no doubt a LOT for a "wah pedal". But keep in mind this is essentially the Remote Wah with more features 100% built from the ground up (nothing prefab or modified) and those original EMB Audio Remote Wahs sold for like $800 without a control pedal 20 years ago.

You know, I first thought that as well. I thought I would find myself getting stuck on it or hitting it a lot but honestly I've had no issues with it at all.

Yup, Kirk used the Remote Wah from 1991 to 2001. He stopped simply because nobody could work on the circuit since Matt (original builder) had moved to France and nobody had his contact info.

Is to possible to use to swicht craft right angle plugs side by side in this wha input and output?
The fact of the input and output been side by side don't make the right angle plugs difficult to use?

By the way, this wah is a piece of art!
Thanks!! So far, we haven't had any issues with cables but we haven't personally tested all of them yet. We do know this is/could be an issue for some folks that prefer a certain style of cabling and a tight pedalboard setup....we are throwing ideas around.

Unless he asks for it to remain exclusive, you probably will be able to order a black chassis down the road. We are a small 3 man team and the setup costs for each different color of chassis isn't cheap, lol. So we made a bunch in the other colors first.

Matt went with that decision based on some internal design changes. We are definitely talking about this though, so no worries.

How much bigger is this wah, compared to the standard Crybaby-type enclosure?

I want to find something to replace my CAE wah but I will have to wait until you guys move the input jack to the right of the pedal.

I still need to meet up and try one of these guys! I'd love a black/red combo!
