KMD XV100SD...any good?

Never even heard of them but came across one cheap on CL as I travel for work.

It has 4x 6550 (new) and 5x 12AX7 and an enormous PT. Also has reverb.

Ugly as hell but it seems to have good components and the controls are laid out nicely for a 2- channel amp.

Bon Jovi endorsed them and some info points toward a JCM800 type of circuit/tone.

Anybody got anything else?

Any good? As is...no. Sounds pretty shitty and is a bit noisy. Lots of SS stuff in there, some is clipping and some is channel switching that I'm not familiar with. No relays or LDRs but there are two TL072s (socketed) and at least 4 transistors of some sort.

But it was cheap, has 4x new 6550 and 5x 'Audio Glassic' square getter Beijings, nice chassis with welded corners, decent cabinet and the PT is a 2.5" stack beast. OT is 1.75" stack. Plate voltage is ~475vdc using 120vac power. It has potential but it is a project for sure.

The power tube board is fairly straightforward so I could potentially keep that and gut the rest.
