I couldn't get any repair shops, or Korg themselves, to answer this question for me that I had contacted, so a friend turned me onto this board. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an old Korg Toneworks AX1000G and I'm trying to figure out if there is any possible way to carry over my saved sounds to a replacement in better condition. The short of it is that the pedal is beat up and not functioning properly anymore due to an idiotic friend, but I have years worth of guitar sounds stored on there that I'm incredibly fond of and wouldn't know how to replicate, therefore don't want to lose. Trying to get info on how these settings are stored on these types of boards, a ROM chip of some sort that could be swapped onto a replacement AX1000G?

I'm not too familiar with that particular piece, but you might have to do it the hard way. If you have two of them, it shouldn't be too hard to go through it and manually copy settings. It would just be tedious and time consuming.

Best of luck, though, and welcome to the forum!

Thank you. That's exactly what a friend of mine suggested last night...bite the bullet, lock yourself in a room for a day and just try to copy the sounds with a replacement. Think I'm headed that way!
