Possible early eighties year model, not sure. Assuming pretty good condition with original case (if that means anything).

Are they any good, honestly?
$300-400 a decent price?

Thanks.

Junk...

If you are in the market for that type of guitar I recommend the Charvel San Dimas MIM, they can be had used 500-600 bucks, nice resonant alder bodies good Maple necks, good electronics decent korean floyd good quality control. I have two vintage Kramer Pacers that I love, all lower entry level Kramers, ie' Focus, Focus 1000 and such are just that, lower entry level junk with questionable body woods and quality. I would not waste the money unless you want a wall hanger but if you play it and like it YMMV. I enjoy playing my Charvel San Dimas as much as my old Kramers and that has really surprised even me, as I am very very critical of details.

Yea man...that's exactly what I wanted to know. Ive got a Charvel MIM, which I love (just need to block it to dive only...thought I would dig that floating bridge, but I fucking HATE it. Lol)

Those old Kramers look cool AF....but don't need junk.

Alot of the Focus bodies are plywood, not even solid wood. My brother bought one, it was absolute junk.

Yeah I ended blocking my floating trem on my Charvel, as I like to drop tune more than having it float.

I have not played the new Kramers classic pacers and baretta's the specs don't look bad but I would have to play one first.

I think you are getting confused with the Stryker series, the Focus series were made by ESP before ESP were on their own by the mid 80s. The Focus series came with OFRs and were not plywood unlike the Korean made Stryker series. They are decent guitars, although the neck profiles seem very shredder thin even compared to a Charvel.
But I'd still take a Charvel of any country of origin over the Focus, the Charvel neck is my favorite profile of all.

I should add that price is about right, but if it doesn't have the OFR then I'd pass. You can usually find one at GC.com that hasn't had the OFR pirated for the same price.

If it's not (really) any better than my MIM San dimas...it's not worth it. It's just that damn floating bridge man.. ?

What's a solid method for blocking th bridge and making it dive only? I've seen a few different on the interwebz...including loose change, screws and blocks of wood.

I tend to not trust the interwebz...but I trust you guys. Ha!

Just get a simple trem block, usually cheap

www.amazon.com/AmplifiedParts-Tremolo-S ... truments...

Cheap enough and more reliable than rigging yourself IMO...

Total fucking NOOB coming at ya here....
My bridge actually pulls flat on big bends and double stops and such.
Blocking the bridge is not really what I need is it??

Many of the Focuses are just as good as the Pacers ..except for the pickups. If you like Ibanez wizard necks then getting one with a OFR is an excellent choice for a suoerstrat style. Fully comparable to Charvels if you like the neck profiles and the more rounded body style...

Only later did the Focus line become downgraded to be similar to the junky strykers.

If that guitar had a Floyd Rose II then it would most likely be a plywood Stryker model,I had had 3 F-1000's, all had Alder bodies with original Floyds on them, made by ESP necks and bodies..the original pickups were the weak link..I sold my last 1000 last year and regret it,hard to find all original good Kramer guitars, unless you want to pay.I still have an 86' Maple Baretta body that going to complete one of these days..if the Focus 6000 in question is original and in good shape the prices you have listed aren't too bad. A lot of those necks were either 1 piece or 3 piece Maple, the 3 piece usually around and- or after late 85' but very few if any Focuses had them,it would be the later models..both very nice necks made by ESP. Kramer had very few if any necks that had scarf joints except some of the earliest Barettas.

There is a website, vintagekramer.com that has lots of info on the earlier Kramers..if you go there click on Guitars, then on the drop down list hit Overseas models, then click on Focus..has some details there.

Focus are nice bodies and real floyds.
Its the electronis that are not that good.
I have 3 focus 1000's .
They all have different pickups and pots plus had the necks plecked.
I like them !
They sound good and are very comfortable to play.

Where did you get your Kramer necks Plex'd ? I'd be super interested in that.

Mike Lull's Guitar Works.
I'm not sure where your located ?
He is in Bellevue wa.
He builds custom guitars and basses as well.
Any and all of the local big names use him for their guitars and basses.
He does great work, but it is not cheap.
He's been doing my guitars for over 30 years.

It was not cheap I can't remember ?
