Early 80’s pacer with hockey stick head stock. All original… mint with case… model with strat pickguard… C serial number. Buddy got it and he’s trying to figure out what it’s worth…..

Kramer C serial number denotes it's a 1983 model. Kramer was using Poplar, Maple and some Alder in 1982/83. The pickguard models are the least desirable but that early hockey stick neck adds to the value for the right buyer.
If that guitar is super heavy then it's probably Maple, Poplar weighs about what Alder does. I've owned two 83 Pacer Carrerra's that were Maple and they were HEAVY AS FUCK as you say JBT. FWIW Lynch's #1 Tiger is a Maple body. I have a maple bodied JEL guitar I built and I love it.
Pricewise anywhere from $1500-$2000 I'd say because of the hockey stick headstock neck as those were usually only seen on the Barretta's at that time., they must have needed a neck or that's not the original neck but if it isn't then that hockey stick neck is probably a 1984/85. I've only seen beak necks on anything other than Barretta's. Looks like it has a Dimarzio bridge p/u of some kind as well, probably a SD.

Yes, it just depends on the how bad the buyer wants an old vintage Kramer. Prices have gotten quite high on old Kramers.
Realistically I'd say if the guitar was mint with little to no fretwear you might get $1500/$2000 for a Pacer Imperial(two humbuckers) and $1000/$1200 for a Kramer Pacer strat with the strat 3HSS pickguard.
There is alot of competition out there now with Warmoth, Charvel, EVH guitars for $600-$800 bucks.

I had one just like it in the late 90's that I bought for $250 at a small music store in WI. It had an original early Gibson PAF that I sold on Ebay for more than I paid for the guitar and it was heavy as fuck as well. I threw a DimarIo SD in it and resold it for a little more than I paid as I was wheeling and dealing paying for my trade school. Best part was that the strap on it had a pin that said " Tough Pussy" on it. Me and my Dad laughed our asses off when I showed it to him.

A friend of mine is a bit of a Kramer collector (along with actually being a great player, rare on the collector front) who has had a few of the OG ones says the current reissue version is legit.
