KT88 vs. EL34 in an Überschall (Clips)

KT88's. I'm hating EL34's in my TJ, I don't know why in the world that was so popular for a while to screw up the TJ and put 34's back into them.

I think it depends on a few factors. I loved the EL34's in my TJ, but KT88's sounded great also. Gary loves the Gold Lion 77's in his. I would love to hear a TJ with 6550's personally. Not even sure if that is possible.

Sorry to necropost, but yeah, 6550's are drop-in replacements for KT88's, as long as you use Winged C's since only they can handle the high plate voltages of the Twin Jet. I got mine from TC Tubes; Tyler does a great job of matching sets of tubes!

Im with you. Lap top speakers dont sound different. Gotta hook this up when i get home.
