Yea that’s crazy it sold. I fully endorse the ideology on free market pricing, and the idea people can charge whatever they want. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay, so who is the real offender here? Just a thought to think about. But also still, fuck that guy haha!

Hey I’m with you on your comments regarding the buyers.
The guys who are paying these prices are just as guilty as the sellers . They drive the market.
It is what it is at this point, but it sure would be nice to get back to a place where things are a bit more reasonable.

Honestly,if I was wealthy I woulda bought it at that price.
And I'd buy any Mark II C+ I wanted at any price too.
And I woulda got in line for a Larry and Ken Lawrence or two also.
There are guys like us mortals here who have the ability to buy whatever they want at any price.
But I can't get a 1982 era Morgan Fairchild or Elvira Real Doll made no matter how much money I have. Go figure.

Transformers were custom built I believe but they are power transformers and only duty is to supply correct voltages
I use Antek toroidal transformers in my builds
As far as components just run of the mill capacitors and resistors. I dont subscribe to brand mojo but if I wanted to hunt down the exact ones used they are obtainable
The DCP evolved throughout Langners run so they are not all the same circuit I've found as well

Does myasnikov build one like that? Might not matter now but to get a desired sound/tone requires money. If there were butt tons of them then price would be lower But if there are 10 in the world, you gotta pay to play.. the milsurp gun world is exactly the same. I’ve bought weapons that are shit but so uncommon that the price seems insane until someone else wants it. I don’t have a problem with price when I want it. Fortunately I don’t want this (too much). Good for buyer and seller. Bad for the rest of us. Remember what Hannibal Lecture said; We covet what we see. I agree with rottingcorpse on this. Get what you want. But what you can.

You’re being way too presumptuous. I was referring to posts #8 and #17 about whoever is consistently, and thereby creating a trend, of price gouging Mesa C+'s. I have zero interest in obtaining C+s or Langners.

He was apologetic almost embarassed to show the preamp but I saw he was good enough and praised him because he built the things and so many just imgine them. Give me a high school dropout builder over a PhD dreamer any day. I think Todd Wilcox is one of those , and will get the parts Todd gave me around 1999. Hit him.up if you want the closest anyone will get to Todds Preamp. Maybe better. I would bet my 3 DCP-1's on it. He was humble like Todd L when he mailed me, apologetic and even called himself a hack,so like Langner i am still smiling..anyone have his gear ?.
