Totally cool that you do one at a time. Can we see that one?
Without kidding you, but today I don't have an amp in progress on my bench.

But because you're such a nice guy I tell you, what's on my bench today.

The body & the neck of my next Strat, for which the parts arrived from US Custom Guitars on Friday.

I consider, to make this guitar playing still today.

Proof?

Bahahaha. What a suprise. No amp on the bench to show any progress. Instead he’s making a parts caster. :D
If you'd kindheartedly allow this, Sir?

I have dared, to have no amp on the bench because it's Sunday

Hopefully this wasn't a mistake under your severely eyes.

If it was, may I ask you for your forgiveness? :scared:

They are asking for a photo of you’re latest amp in progress on the bench as of right now. Do you put your in progress amp away on Sundays?

I gotta be honest and say that I agree with krill. Can we see a picture on Monday?

TBH I don't work on Sundays. I spend Sundays with my family and friends and enjoy the day, but I don't clear my shop out for it, I just don't go in it and work.

I have probably five projects going on at all times. Whether it be an amp, guitar, pedal, a refin or something.

Larry, can we see a picture of your shop area and some parts? Or some iron?

I am not trolling Larry. I just want to see some work being done.

Tubes? Components? Iron? Glass? Photo of current project.

Also I personally understand taking Sunday off. That's fine but I don't empty my shop out for it. I just don't work in there.

Personally I am not a pro, but I will match you pic for pic, and I am sure others would/could too.

Shop area? I don't have a shop area.

I'm building my amps where I'm living, within a very homey ambience.
One half is living area, the other half is amp building area.
While working I could watch TV if I turn around myself, but at least I can hear it...
... and all the time during working I can speak to my girl friend sitting around.

Some iron?

Some more iron?

Still some butts and boobs?

No, not from me :D

That's better than nothing.

He just finished this British Purist two weeks ago.
I’ve received it about 10 days ago.
One of the best amps I’ve heard to this date.
The Dino is also a beast.

Awesome! Glad to hear good thoughts.

Do you have clips?

Nope. No clips.
But I'll be glad to post some when I get to record them, or if one of the bands that track here at my studio end up using it on one of their songs.

So in all how long did it take to get the British Purist?

Aso. So this is the other amp you have been waiting for which was suppose to be done November 2018. According to this thread linked below which is the same one of Stevek talking about getting no amp.

https://www.thegearpage.net/board/i...ughts-fortin-plagiarized-larry.1966770/page-4

So now you finally got it and it’s only 2020. Congrats!
Ahh, Krull the troll. Using his distraction technique to try and turn opinion around. Very similar to what your POS self does in the OT.
You’re such a classless POS loser, using Steve K (RIP) as a crutch to criticize. Wow. No low is low enough for this pile of garbage. No surprise though. We know all about you, king Troll.

For those who don’t know, Mike Fortin lifted circuits from Larry amps(2), Steavens and the Metalhead Elan circuit. And called them his own. How do I know this? Because I’ve talked with 2 RT members who saw it for themselves yrs ago. No I won’t name them.

Btw, why should Larry post pics of his builds? He’s got nothing to prove to anyone here. Anything concerning Steve K certainly won’t be done publicly, much to Krull the Trolls’ chagrin.

I’m quite sure at 6K per amp, that rules most RTers out. Especially Krull since he’s sponging off grandma living in her basement.

Sounds to me like anyone who has a Larry says it’s damn amazing. I know 4 guys that do and they love them. And they didn’t give a rats ass about the wait time.
They knew that when they signed up for it.

Kinda like a certain Israeli builder of LP clones..3-5 yr wait and 10K up front??? How come no threads about that??? Crickets.....

Maybe the Fortin Defense league will chime in...cueing Krull the Troll 3..2...1...

Again, who cares? The buyer knew there would be a wait. You don’t want to wait or pay 6K for an amp then don’t sign up. Looks like some here are trying to start a shitstorm to do a little ‘payback’ for poor Mr Fortin and these accusations Larry has leveled..
Nothing new here. Larry’s amps are expensive, and there is a long wait. That’s just how it is. Deal with it, or don’t sign up. Simple to understand.

Guys that have no concept of what custom work is and how unpredictable timelines are. Go play your instant "just add water" amp. I'm sure Larry remembers every amp he's done, while the rest of you are playing a f#$@ing line item on a corporate ledger, or best case scenario, an amp made by some paint by numbers self proclaimed internet amp Messiah whos only designs consist of whatever sales schtik they come up with. I can probably count using fingers on only 1 hand where you will get an amp of this quality and true custom nature

Totally agree. It's his business. And they know up front.

I just want to see work in progress. I have no beef with Larry his deal is his deal. I consider him a master craftsman and give him much respect.

Maybe it would put others at ease seeing stuff being done. TBH that's why I started the thread.

I am curious about the wait time TBH.

I also agree that krill is trash.

This mindset is a clear contrast between pro players and hobbyists of a certain income- where bragging and cost really just appeals to the vanity of the buyer. Most guys I know that are really good players will sound great on the "just add water" gear you mention... then there are those who can't play and prefer the designer jeans version. The condescension is truly ironic....

I like my cheap amps TBH and have no problem with that. I have yet to drop over $1100 on an amp m.

Saying that I plan on going over to the the norm to snag a BE 100 when the time is right.

TBH my Rivera Ktre gets the most action and my Splawns. They kill for me. My Rivera opened up amazing with a few old production Mullards. Woke it the fuck up.

It's got nothing to do with vanity or cost, at the end of the day Larry's builds are works of art. I can literally only think of one or two builders that might be in the same league when it comes to workmanship and attention to detail, and those guys are building single channel vintage style amps not four channel gain monsters. If you appreciate that great, if not that's great too. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything. But if you don't understand the difference and are talking shit because something hand built takes time and is expensive then yeah you do just come off as clueless.

I don't own a Larry and will probably never order one, but I can certainly appreciate what he does.

Money  Money? My #1 amp - Boogie Mk.IVa, #1 guitar - Steinberger GR4. various pedals. I've owned $$,$$$.00 guitars and 4 dozen amps, most of which I have pictures of on my Flickr account. And, I have music & videos that I made with said gear that is great IMO. I would buy a Dino if the chance came along.
I can and do own anything I want, anything. I cannot imagine owning or playing better gear than what I own now.

I think your missing what I'm trying to say... I'm not "against" works of art or Larry amps.. he is irrelevant to the point I'm making which is a deeper one about mindset. I'm sure no one comes close to Larry- as you said- I wouldn't know or care. My point was rather, how does a work of "art" make you a better player? does PTP wiring benefit my technique? or is it just easier to repair when something goes wrong? All things to consider- when considering what's important to you regardless of who the builder is.

Ive never seen a bonafide rockstar playing a Larry and I bet if you ask one about a larry they would say Larry who? And no I don't consider John Schaffer a bonafide rockstar sorry. Oh the dino guy too
