Off. I think most Les Paul guitars look better with it off.
 
On.

The pick guard makes it look more narrow. With it off it looks chubby... Maybe that is why they used an angular instead of curved pick guard.
 
I always thought the pickguards on LP's looked cheesy. I like it ... naked! :rock: :lol: :LOL:
 
I'd say ON in this instance. Just goes nice with the coloration IMHO. But you know, either way - it's a Lester so play it proud :rock:
 
To me it depends oN the lp, in this case on, but both look good.
 
On, if the holes are already there then definatly put it on. It just looks much better that way.
