I finally got around to putting a bass line to an origonal I'm working on, and I'd like to get some input on the mix/overall sound. I've been struggling with the accuracy of my monitors (being too light in the lowend), so I hooked up my KRK 8's yesterday (bass heavy IMO) to run with my main monitors. They sound great and balanced together, so I mixed this clip with both pairs of monitors.

Please, give me your input guys.

Have you considered treating your room? I've been doing a lot of reading about bass traps/broadband absorption.....and I'm kind of getting Room Treatment Gas. I've read that it makes a huge difference. It's not as expensive as I initially thought either...

Oh yeah, for sure man. It's just a matter of time ($$$). But my monitors are only about 2 feet away from head right now, so I don't know how much of the room is affecting it.. Who knows.. Maybe I'm just too much of a newb when it comes to mixing

I'd bring the guitars up, but I only use headphones so my mixing is inherently flawed. That's a killer song man. Nice job.

Sounds pretty good besides the drums & bass being a bit loud. Might be a touch bright(whole mix), not much - just a hair. Yeah, that tune rips...nice work J.

As was said lower the drums a little bit. Love the breakdown at 0:29 A LOT (an the repeat at the end with the equally righteous ending)! The horns came out along with the head banging

Guitar seems a bit buried until the second part comes in. Drums sound really bright - the snare especially - I really don't dig the snare. Guitar is buried by that snare again later.

Sounds like the monitor situation could be better-- ever try Dynaudios? They are forgiving in a bad way but I love them..
