Here's my version. 83' Aria Pro II ZZ Bladerunner. Awesome sounding guitar.

I've got a 1983 Heritage Korina Explorer and a Futura as well which are both killer lightweight guitars.

Jeez that's nice.

I went and played one at GC, not sure if it's my thing. The shape makes it uncomfortable to sit with. It seems to me it's really build to be strapped on. Who knows. The guitar at GC played and sounded fine it just felt weird with the back coming up so high. I'm such a Tele/Paul guy...

The thing for me is they balance perfect sitting or standing .... better than anything else for me. The last 10/15 years I have into the meat and potato stuff ..... Strat, Tele, Les Paul, Rickenbacker, etc.

My brother has a Jackson Kelly .... I think he picked it up in the early 90's .... no idea what year. It is a very nice guitar I always thought.

I had an explorer pro for a while. It was perfect sized for me. I think they are perfect when standing. They are a little awkward sitting though. I always end up dinging up the back part of it that sticks out, though.

RAN's are all sort of awesome as well. Played a "Hetfield" style one (just like rareguitars new purchase above) and loved it. Heavy, but comfortable.

I picked up an explorer for the first time not to long ago at an l&m and couldn't believe how much I loved it. Been on my mind ever since, it happened to be a Gibson and with that particular explorer the build quality didn't seem all there. Lately I got this crazy idea that I might take my tax return and get in line for a KL... Anyone know how to get a hold of this man??

I do but I dont think you got what it takes to own a real KL

Stick with Shamray or other Euro knock offs these are big boy toys.

Just kidding check your PM box I am sending you his contact info.

While Danzig was with Hamer nobody made a better explorer imo, true handcrafted guitars since Hamer USA is 100% custom shop.

I have not heard of post Danzig quality so I have put my fanboi flag away for now.

I drooled all over that one back when Pyromania came out...it was high up on my list of celebrity "crush" guitars, along with this one:

Did you have the Kahler added? I remember these coming stock with a pretty crappy trem.

Yeah be careful, you definately either love that shape or hate it. I was in an "I have to have an Explorer" phase about six months ago. Kept remembering how cool I thought it was back in the 80s when I played my teachers. Went and tried one and realized really quick it wasn't my thing. You can probabaly adjust to anything after a time though but in my case I'm glad I didn't buy it blind. Good luck with the hunt.

Was that after he was in the Misfits? I've always been a fan of the Jol Dantzig builds myself :poke: ;)

Nice! Brad's house reminds me of that scene in Rock Star when Mark Walburg and Jennifer Aniston are walking through to the audition and come across all the cool guitars and memorabilia. Where's Halford's hat?

That black KL is fuckin nuts, your balls must clank when you walk around playing that thing.
I don't think my balls are big enough to play one
