While Danzig was with Hamer nobody made a better explorer imo, true handcrafted guitars since Hamer USA is 100% custom shop.

I have not heard of post Danzig quality so I have put my fanboi flag away for now.

Was that after he was in the Misfits? I've always been a fan of the Jol Dantzig builds myself

If you are really interested in a good Explorer, look no further than the early 90's '76 Reissues. I have owned a couple over the years and have owned my '92 since 2003. Best Explorer I have ever played.

I am parting ways with a 2002 USA Gibson Explorer Pro w/ OHSC and Original Gibson Gold Warranty Tri-Fold with the serial number information too.

It has only been played a handful of times, and is in immaculate condition.

Get one of the Gibson Explorer Pro's. This one is mine. It's a 90% body which makes it just the right size.

I just bought it a few months ago, love it. Slim taper neck, nice and light. They pop up around the forum and on ebay at times. Grab one if you can. I'll be throwing some EMG 81/85 pups in very soon.

2002 Gibson Explorer Pro (90% body) basically in unplayed, mint condition with the case and candy. This is not one of the GOTW or 2007 series guitars. Supposedly 1 of 200 made for 2002 yr.

I just picked up one today I think its a 07 serial number is 0239703XX If I recall right its the first and 5th number for the year? But anyway man it rips and sounds huge..... Its no match for my 89 LP custom but not to many guitars are in my book. I know nothing about these guitars got it on a trade deal that happen fast. Got a email asking if Id trade and said y not 15 min later I had it in my hand lol.

I hear from an extremely reliable source (who also happens to own the best-sounding Explorer I've ever heard) that the ones to have are late 70's/early 80's models that have the offset knobs (not in a straight line, but in more a, "group of three/V-shape" configuration) on board. There's a picture on Page 1 with two guys--one has a white Explorer with the knob configuration I'm talking about.
