Life, Sex & Death any body like them in the mid 90's??
I know the guitar player wasn't exactly shredding or doing anything amazing..
Song wise I thought they did some good stuff, some good riff's..
Using an 8 string bass to fatten up the sound with one guitar player worked pretty well..
And the whole gimmick with a fake Homeless guy known as " Stanley " for a singer was hilarious back then..
Considering what was the trend back then..
If anything they were certainly entertaining..

My g/f just got me a replacement cd off of ebay and gave it to me today..

Live Stanley was awesome and entertaining check out his Hilarious moves..
I only seen them once when they Opened up for Lynch Mob...

Love LSD

I used to think their singer looked like Elvis Costello

Haha my g/f was watching a t.v. show and Elvis Costello was on it in a black suit with an acoustic guitar playing a homeless guy Panhandling for money..
Definitely see the resemblance

Remember them well. I saw them open for Lynch Mob in Philly '93 IIRC. I knew nothing about them at the time...and got a bit pissed off at this "bum" walking around the crowd smelling like just crawled out of a dumpster. Next thing I know he's up on stage doing his thing. I was blown away by both the cool tunes/riffs and Stanley's crazy stage moves. Bought the CD that week and continue to play it to this day.

Their guitar player, Alex Kane, has a band in the UK now called Anti-Product. Check 'em out.

Same experience in Columbus and Cincinnati! My CD was stolen though and I have not been able to get a replacement.

OldSkoolNJ: this is a big favor but would you burn me a copy? I can send you a few bucks for the trouble.

I remember those guys. They had a cool thing going.

"I'm a tank, I'm a tank."

Saw em play in Tulsa way back at the Windjammer! Stanley grabbed a table and chair from the floor, took em to the stage and sat down at his 'table' and did the gig. That's about all I remember, I was underage and hammered.

Yeh I can burn you a copy,
The CD she bought me is like brand new, I just uploaded it for my ipod so I can email the songs, Or my g/f might be able to create a zipfile for it to make it easier to send..
Just let me know what you would prefer
I am not worried about a couple bucks, just pass on the favor to someone else in the future..

HOLY CRAP. This brings me back.

Funny story. Mid 90's we went to the Limelight in NYC to see some bands. That was the ultimate club since it was an abandoned church, couple hundred years old or so. Anyway, were in line to get in the place and there's this homeless guy carry on outside acting like a retard, all goofy with people. He looked dirty and smelled like shit. We get in the club and we see the same dirtbag falling over himself in the club. Then some band we never hear of starts playing without a singer and that same homeless bum gets up on stage and starts singing. We almost threw up it was soo funny.

That was his schtick out here in LA too. The funny thing is that I knew that singer back when we both lived in Chicago, his name was Chris Stan and he looked exactly like Slippery When Wet era Bon Jovi. I even have a video somewhere of his old band in Chicago playing on some cable access show. The story was that his family was rich, rich, rich and he had it made in the shade.

When he moved to Hollywood and came up with that persona, he really lived it. I mean he smelled like a homeless dude covered in his own 5 day old urine. It was gross. In one of my bands we rehearsed at this huge place called Downtown Rehearsal Studios. LSD rehearsed there too, during the afternoon because they didn't have to work day jobs. :gethim: We used to hear them as we were getting there and they really were just great. One night they were there late and our singer and other guitar player didn't know about "Stanley" and they kicked "some homeless weirdo" out of the whole rehearsal studio and threw him out the door. When they came back to tell us about it we started laughing and ran downstairs to let him back in because he didn't have his keys. Everytime I saw him I would always say "hey, what's up Chris?" and he would not even acknowledge in the least that he was the same guy. All of us from Chicago of course knew he was the Bon Jovi guy. LSD's drummer Brian Horak was a KILLER drummer too. He played in a band in Chicago called Damien Thorne that was signed to CBS. One of my best friends and former band mates was in Damien Thorne with him. Man was that band heavy. Heavy and sinister and scary and just evil. Yet they looked like a hairband.
