Any one here playing one ? Some say vh4 ch3 n I've heard herbert2+ sound. Maybe a possible trade for one ? Erock did a great video sounds more like Herbert than vh4 in the clip but .... maybe I'm wrong. Fishing for the dirt ?

I tried the lil fokker using my orange PPC412 with V30/scumback H75.
I had a chance to buy for some very good money here in Europe.

Did not.
Probably it did not match well with my guitar/speaker/music style. ibanez 1527-lil fokker- modded orange 412

The bass was simply too much. I had to have my bass on 8-9 o clock, deep completely off and still it was kinda 'hard' sounding with a lot in the sub bass tonal area.
But not that area that still cuts through, the one which you hear playing alone and when you all start playing in the band you get lost.

i could however imagine it sounding good with a matching cab and a tele/strat guitar for instance.. or simply an LP with medium PAF output pickups, I kinda understood why I did not like the tone in those 2 hours that we tried it.

Hmmm ... been thinking I want something Diezel as of late and the Fokker was one of interest too.

The Fokker is no less great than any other Diezel. You certainly need the right speakers, but that's true for any amp. The clean/crunch channel is killer. That channel alone is almost worth the price. The gain channel is amazing. It's very much like the D-Moll, but I think the clean/crunch channel is so versatile that it can get a lot of classic tones too. The circuit is purer than any other Diezel since it doesn't have all the MIDI circuitry, etc... so I imagine some dudes think that's always best. There must be something to it because it sounds incredible.

The only problem I had the the Fokker is that it's a big amp head. I wish they'd make a smaller, more affordable 50w version. That's just me though. Most people don't seem to mind the real estate big amp heads use. I think, like every Diezel, the Lil Fokker is a masterpiece.

VH2 and BigMax should be big hits. VH2: channels 1 and 2 of the Vh4 with a simple loop, no MIdI, and with the VH4 output transformer. Big Max is just one channel of high gain Diezel with a low input to knock it down a bit of you want.

Just watched the Namm video, VH2 is stated to be channel 1 and channel 3 of the VH4.

I had a Lil Fokker. It was a great amp. I regret getting rid of it. The speaker cab does make a difference. I played mine through a 4 x 12 EVH. I played it through a few mesa's and the EVH sounded the best for my set up at the time.

Fokker was nasty, too much like vh4 for me, more high mid kerrang. Plenty of bottom though focused differently than hagen einstein or dmoll.

Clean was great. Plenty of gain. Not smooth like herbert, more jagged.

I let it go because Einstein was close enough for that sound and the serial loop was not transparent enough for my needs.

All in all a great amp, just depends on if its your flavor.

Cujo....
You want a D-moll or a PAUL.
I know your tones.
Fokker is cool. But check out the amps I mentioned

Hey everyone! new guy in here and a long time mesa user that has now switched over to diezel. I have a lil fokker which is my first diezel that I absolutely love. I was wondering if any of you have some settings preferences you could share. Like I said I love the sound of this amp but I just can't really get it to break through that dark side it has and brighten up some. I was also wondering if anyone has experimented in bringing down the output of this guy. I'm used to pulling tubes in my older mesas to go from 100 to 50 for example (pulling two outside power tubes, two inside, etc). Thanks in advance

Fokker is one of the brighter diezels, the diezel darkness may not be your thing. Jens kruse has brighness mods to marshallize the high end.

I tried the VH4 and the Lil Fokker back-to-back with the same guitar and the same cabinet at good volume and IMHO the Fokker's drive channel was not as good as channel 3 on the VH4. It was more fizzy to me. The clean was good but nothing special.

YMMV

That's the Fokker:

sm 57 on the cone to get extra high end and an "in your face tone". EQ at noon. I turn the middle and treble knob at the end of the strat clip.

It's a dark, mellow amp in the room compared to a Marshall or 6505.

I do not have a vh4 to compare it to, so I cannot say how it compares, but others who have both amps say that the VH4 (and there are different revisions) is a bit darker. Especially the old, dark versions of the amp.

I also recorded the riff from the yt clip above with the Fokker and the difference is not so big. I guess the cab and miking position makes more of a difference.

And if you'd turned down treble a bit?

BTW. I have a tubelit modded Plexi style amp that can be dialed in to sound quite similar. If you turn down the deep on the Fokker, it's hard to tell which is which in a blind test.

But seriously, I tried EQ'ing out the fizz but there was just something grainy in the highs that stayed no matter what.

Anyway, the VH2 may just be the ticket.

I think I know what you mean.
Did you hear the same fizzyness in the clips I posted above?
I think there might be slightly more high end bite in the Fokker, but the mids are very soft. No jcm800 high mids.
Maybe the output transformer of the vh4 makes for smoother treble.

If the Lil Fokker wasn't so hideous to look at I'd probably have kept it longer than I did. It had loads and loads of gain - big low end and was pretty fun to play.
