Just got back from a solo show he did in a small theatre in Green Bay...There was maybe six/seven hundred people there...
First off, I HATE Fleetwood Mac...Period.
Secondly, while I like a few of Lindsey's solo songs, the body of work as a whole in my limited listening, well, not so much either...
He did the show 100% solo... Just him and a guitar...A couple very sparse loops for some songs...Sound was great, we had awesome seats...
Oh. My. God.
It was plain to see that this is what a "musician" is...Not just a guy that plays a guitar or a hired gun
The dynamics and the way he used volume to build-up and knock-down parts...His playing, his freaking voice, the fact that there was NOTHING to hide behind musically... The passion for what he was doing was awesome....The guy was just oozing music...When he would get carried away, there was nothing "planned" or staged...He really seemed to just feel it and it certainly translated to what you heard in the audience...
I get a little limited in what I choose to listen to and forget there are a zillion other genres out there...I just wanted to say how impressed I was and actually forgot how powerful an acoustic guitar could be in the right hands..Who knew? I thought acoustics were just for intros!
