I saw them live once, and I must say that it was extremely heavy. In the best way possible. Stunning guitar tones.

They make a lot more sense when you see them live.

Nothing sets the tone like flamethrower facemasks

They wear eyeliner as well, have to give major babe scoring points for that move.

Plus they are German, their metal is perfect as it is according to them............................Hi Olaf :D

That Cradle of Filth thing at the end of the vid, I am not liking that very much.

I always liked Richard Kruspe's Recto tones.

SO what is the stadium for the live vid I posted? Looks old but very cool.
It's Nîmes' roman arena, in France. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arena_of_N%C3%AEmes

The Rammstein shows are killer. I saw them last year, as abrackas said it's non stop entertainment, a real experience. Best live band ever.

Thanks

That must be an incredible place for a concert

This. To anyone who says a recto is too loose for heavy metal they need to listen to Rammstein

I love Rammstein, I have Valkerball DVD and a few CDs. After having lived in Europe and traveled to Germany, Holland I don't know why but I GET THEM a lot more...... they're very GERMAN if you know what I mean. It's fantastic!

You guys seen their "Pussy" music video??? :scared: Had a link at one time but can't find it anymore. Pretty much a straight up hardcore porn starring the band members, money-shots and all. Not your average music video, to say the least...

Here is the video that you are talking about: (Explicit content warning) towards the end it is full on porn.

yeah, i remember that video. hot chix in that one!

I love Rammstein! They get a lot of shit because people take their music way too seriously. Solid band that consistently put out groovy, hard-hitting music and have an amazing stage show. They were one of the first heavy bands I got into as a young'un and have a special place in my heart.

The only thing I share with these guys is to speak english with a kraut accent. Their playing with stereotypes sucks IMO, but hey, what can I do? Thats the time- from Kraftwerk to Nena to Rammstein. I'm probably too old and too far left politically to overlook their "playing" (thats what they say) with the right attitude. I prefer Tokyo Hotel as a typical german band. In all seriousness. I do understand that one can be impressed by the show though.

One may reply with a dutch stereotype about germans (which fits me here - and which I find funny btw):
"the smallest book in history is the book about german humor". ;)

I have NO idea what they are saying lyric wise, dumb bliss I guess :D

All I know is that no way in hell would that France show be authorized here in the US, those flamethrower masks would be condemned as WMD by the TSA

Plus we do not have any venue as cool as that.............well Red Rocks would be suitable but still not the same

I know what you mean.

My knowledge of german culture isn't too big honestly, but from the vibe I got when I was in Germany I can see a lot of it in Rammstein (not the pyro and the "militaryish" style) but a dark somber intricate vibe I also felt when I visited. I loved it, really really really loved Germany.

Working closely with german colleagues for almost 3 years (from Frankfurt am Main, maybe it's an interesting info), I discussed with them about Rammstein, and it seems that either they love Rammstein or they think they're completely ridiculous, no one in the middle. Maybe it's easier from the exterior, but what I see is a very dark sense of humour and a will to move on from, making fun of the stereotypes. And that's exactly what I can see in the people liking them.

For me, it's not a typical german band, far from it.

I LOVE THAT SONG!!!

I was waiting at the rail to see Tool at a recent music festival. Rammstein went on the adjacent stage while Tool were setting up. The singer came out covered in blood wearing a butcher's apron and holding a meat cleaver. Then they started shooting fire into the air. Damn I could feel the heat from those flames!!. The sound was absolutely MASSIVE!

I wish I was in the crowd over there. Next time Rammstein are in town I can't wait to get in the crowd!

Feuer Frei has become my favourite song of theirs, ever since I heard it live, with the sweat from my forehead being evaporated by the heat from their 'lycopodium mask' flamethrowers. This is a really cool video clip of it, with lego men. It kicks arse!

Rammstein are one of the very few bands of all that make a Recto sound good.
