That's my sense of it as well. Band conflicts and all of the red tape that goes with trying to be successful. It didn't take much of that to suck all of the joy out of it for him. At a certain level, sometimes (perhaps oftentimes), the music itself becomes the least important part of keeping the boat afloat.
I think Vitto was in it entirely for the love of music and guitar. Not unlike some pedal builders, some of whom are amazing, passionate craftsman, but who have zero stomach for the business aspect of it.
