Alright, over at Ultimate-Guitar me and a member talked and we decided to have a little amp fest. He came down to my place and brought a few of his amps, the VHT Ultra-Lead and the Soldano SLO. Both very awesome amps, and I don't think I'll ever get to play another SLO ever so that was a nice treat.

We hooked up to my Mesa Stilleto and started messing around with different tones. Here's a video recorded on a Mac. (I'm in the purple)

Later we decided to put some NOS tubes in the Baron since the Tung-Sols just weren't pushing it. The gain seemed to be maxing out at noon but the new tubes fixed this.

Then we decided to Reamp those Rose of Sharyn DIs, that everyone loves   , through all the amps.

And then I actually took the time to Mic the tracks with an SM57.

Here's the clips from the SM57.

Sorry for the mediocre playing from me guys but I thought this might be interesting. ;)

Cool stuff  Of the mic'd recordings, I liked the VHT rhythm channel best. The Baron seems like a really fun amp to play through too.

Finally some one playing the same exact riff through each amp..

I am definitely digging that Baron K88.. Dude I was going to bug you when you were asking about south jersey repair place to let me try it out..

Lol I still have yet to get over to that place. I'm up for Jamz anytime though. ;)

I like the K88, having a studio the one thing that struck me from the time I got the Baron was how easy it is to mix and have it sit in the mix. It really cuts better than alot of the amps I have and have recorded. And I've either had or recorded just about everything.

Nice job!

oh man my youtube is about to be blowin up wit hits.

I'm glad you made miced clips. I only watched 30 seconds of one and it sounded horrible.

Those all sound really great. That SLO Rhythm sounded full and lovely. I must say that my favorite was the VHT. Both channels sounded fairly similar though.

Ya the youtube is only from my macbook mic.

Kyle had a mic that we were running and then we made D.I.'s.

I'm just limited in my mobile kit right now.

Kinda sad that a lot of the SLO clips were clipped but I think there's enough in there.

The Fryette channels were dialed in pretty similarly, they sounded a bit different in the room then the recordings indicate.

The UL's Lead channel has a bit more gain then the Rhythm channel without the boost, but with the boost engaged and the eq engaged you can dial in 2 completely different channels or 2 similar ones so it's not really rhythm/lead but more of an optional thing depending on the dial in. They feel a bit different to play through.

Of course each of the 2 channels also has a more/less gain switch that changes the number of gain stages each stage has so there's a lot of versatility in the dial in. I think the clip shows that each channel has sort of the same characteristics to play around with as opposed to some amps that have a lead channel with significantly more saturation then the rhythm channel.

Just went through these clips again. Thought someone would appreciate this thread.
