Chilling at home checking it out with a few cold ones.

They were awesome on that tour !
Saw them that year at the old convention center arena

I saw that tour too. Too bad the guitars are buried on the Live Shit recording. Type in Metallica Philidelphia in youtube for more crushing footage of the Justice tour.

Thats my favourite era of Metallica.

That's my favorite concert DVD! What an amazing gig! James' voice sounds soooooo amazing on that gig.

My Favorite concert DVD for sure. I've watched it over 10000 times, seriously.

i always thought the binge and purge cd's were the worst sounding live recordings ever

That was a great concert dvd to watch.....they jammed for over 2 hours!
Awesome setlist.....especially for me since I hate everything after AJFA.
I woke up an was still buzzing from lastnight

I saw them in December '88 at the Cow Palace San Francisco with Queensryche opening. Awesome? Yep.
Glad I saw them in their prime before the invasion of the body snatchers.

Same here: imho that`s Metallica at their peak and I love every minute of that concert.

The difference in that show vs. the Black tour videos is astounding. Where they do the instrumental piece all sitting and then go into Master of Puppets is just , how you say.....Brewtal! Plus the guitar tone, drums. Everything is just perfect....before the Bob Rockification.
How could Metallica think they wanted to sound like Dr Feelgood? Not withstanding that it's a great record for Motley.

I guess we can be greatful that they were captured at their peak. Especially Pre-James' vocal stylings ala post Black. I need to get a copy of just that show on DVD.

Hell! Even Kirk sounds great on it!

I personally don`t like their live tone at that time too much because it is too scooped. But man: How they go into Master of Puppets is just so Metal

The only thing I dont like about that show is James stupid mustache......

Yep, that was a killer show IMO. Metallica was so awesome live back in those days.

I think much of it has to do with Jaymes`voice, awesome back then. But he had to take the toll and therefore he never went full blast after the black album, kinda sad but the only way to go. Sometimes he still has those moments where he goes all out like in parts of Turn the Page, always gives me chills.

IMO that is Metallica at their peak performance level. Jaymz's voice, the guitar tones, even Lars seemed to play better. Plus, I love Jason's backing vocals. Awesome concert.

I agree that my favorite tone on video of their's is from the Kill 'Em All era footage but as far as representing the MOP era sounds that video is spot on. Still tight and sharp.

Too much NWOBHM for me. Gotta have that marshall midrange bark.
