Imagine the deal with a new death metal band today. Metal Blade does not pay you anything whatsoever if you are a new act. You will get a $2,000 LOAN for a 30 day tour. It is good for exposure and locked shows I guess but there is no guarantee anyone will show up to the shows depending on the demographics.

IMO you would be better off just making your own contacts and if your band is good you can get on the same shows anyway without having to pay money.

Unless you're selling tons of records/downloads/merch then getting a "deal" is not all it is cracked up to be imo. To each their own. If you got it like that to where you can make it work than that it awesome and good for you but imo being homeless sucks.

Yeah fo sho. When I was younger with the band I was in we played our asses off and did alot of traveling. Would have loved to get paid to do it instead of paying for everything ourselves. Hard to recall but I think mid 20's is when I decided there was no way I was going to live like that. (Unless I was making BIG money which is not going to happen for me or for 80% of all metal bands)

Same, I really need to lose a few pounds and shave my ass cheeks but I must say buying new gear helps me have some interest again. In your case of apathy and knowing what you have gear wise, I really do not think there is a single piece of gear that would change you lol. You seriously have some the best shit. What else could you possibly get that makes you say YES!!!
