That's a good choice, that or the Boss DM 101.
I'm curious, so if you get the Discovery when you look inside, tell us what you think about what Kevin was doing in there

you mean the internal design ?? I'm expecting to see a whole lot of SMD parts ..... you're not going to put a rack size delay in a enclosure like that without being all SMD ..

I am curious though ..... because the signal path is pure analog .... reminds me of my Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail Deluxe with a lot more bells and whistles ..

I got to weigh out the options .... I don't use the modulation controls on any of my delays .... I'm not a fan of any warble in my sound ..

Why not man?
I have a Diamond Memory Lane Jr. V2 and the slight modulation on there is beautiful, very subtle. It is a damn near perfect delay pedal. As far as a delay pedal goes that is my number one. and I also have a DigiTech DL-8 that has a setting on there with just a slight bit of modulation too that's really nice too.

Just checked out the suhr discovery and it looks killer, but pricey.

Been considering a DOD rubberneck delay. I don't need tap tempo, but a blinking LED to the delay time is very handy.

Wayne, any analog delay builds on your radar?

I like precision ...... warbling don't sit in my OCD brain .... nor does it fit in my playing ....

now if I liked staring at my shoes and pedalboard while I played ..... it might be a different story ...

I realize it's effects on some clean playing stuff ...... it can sound really cool ....

really comes down to what you're playing I suppose ..... or what you're after ....

I suppose if I'm half a cone in on top of 1/2 a 100mg chocolate bar and I'm wanking over some Pink Floyd style backing tracks ...some warbling might be just what the doctor ordered

Nope ...... the Rubberneck is what I've been using now for at least 6 months ... I've had it for a few years now .... it rotates on and off my board with a few others .... Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail Deluxe .... JHS Panther ( the older blue one ) ...

I only use BBD driven delays that have tap tempo .... that's why I don't build one ..... Tap Tempo requires a digital element within the design .... and I don't do digital ...

I could build several that don't have tap tempo ..... like the Boss DM-2 ..... that's an incredible BBD Delay .... no tap tempo though

I hear ya.
My absolute best delay though that I do have is a Korg dl8000r no warble on that one unless you want it and in that case it can get pretty crazy. But as a rack mount delay or whatever it's the best. Fuck a 2290

I had a Suhr Discovery. It was awesome! I do miss having one and may pull the trigger on one soon. I only sold mine when someone offered stupid money for mine...
