Mesa Mark III amps do death metal with the right GEQ setting. They have more than enough power, attack and gain, they typically tend to rip your face off.

I have always used a JC 120 and a metal zone with a black chord to get the darker tone along with razor blades for picks to keep it brutulz.

hhahahah thats f*ckin trve sh*t right there. ive got a keeley modded metal zone laying around i mess with that sometimes if i want my amp to sound more edgy/crappier and fizzy lol. if i do it right tho it gets a nasty tone just like with the gain all the way down and the knobs pointing up and the level all the way up i can get that decapitated winds of creation album tone lol. i have a maxon OD808 too but i find it really doesnt do anything for me like at all unless im trying to trem pick like dark funeral style stuff or something like that with my amp not really cranked up it cleans up the picking but other than that its useless with this head it just takes aaway from the organic death it possesses.

i havent tried it with my HM2 clone yet cuz i dont have an adapter but you should get one of those for your rolland lol

FBM thru 2 Cameron cabs and 2 ISP vector 15" 600 watt subs. Tightest,most brutal tone in my whole collection of high gain stuff.

The pittbull ultralead and my Herbert thru matching Randall warhead stacks does the brutal well too. Running the UL thru the 4x12s and the Herbert thru the 2x15s is crazy.

I'd like to add that the Randall X2 (total dimebag solid state tone) sounds great for the death metal sound. And I always wanted to get my hands on a Metasonix fucking fucker head.

ahh the DAR FBM? by the time i even knew what that was they didnt even exist anymore. those things look fucking crazy. and subs? i dont even think of that lol i bet that sounds insane. Ive always wanted a UL i still want one to go with this... id probably have that modded as well tho if i got one.. especially if it was an old used one.. they are so expensive. Im just so happy with what trace did its like... i just.. want another one lol. id be happy with another modded CLX. or a UL. Ive thought about a randall warhead for blending myself but i never did it. i wouldnt even play it. Ive been thinking lately about a kaos hatred to go with this cuz the price is really good for a point to point and it would probably not be too far off a UL with no graphic EQ. idk though. no clue what a fucking fucker is lol

Nice. Never played the clx but I had a 100CL and it was definitely a very brutal amp. Kind of want another but I'm liking my Uberschall quite a bit.

Any clips of that mod by chance?

Edit: I'll take those boosts off your hands if you want ;) would hate to see them clutter up your death abyss.

the CLX i have is the only fryette ive ever played. I wanted a UL but i found this and tried it out and i loved it. it needed new tubes tho they looked dull like. i guess. it sounded great though but with passives it was dry. very brutal indeed. but it has alot more gain now. saturates better. it generally still has the same kind of tone.. still sounds fryette pittbull. but it goes...far beyond.. its just its own thing. what he did to it is sick and i couldnt be more pleased. feels alot hotter in general. lets the legato lahwebfklhavblkehvfhj flow. always wanted to try an uber.... i really havent played many other amps.

the only clip i have recorded with the actual amp is on my reverbnation page.... just a riff jam. just guitars. but it was recorded with a line 6 UX1 and 1 SM57 running into podfarm 2 dry signal into riffworks. doesnt do it justice at all. i think when i record im going to need to do some playing with alot of mics and positions to capture the EQ of what it actually sounds like. 1 SM57 position didnt catch the magic at all whatsoever.

EDIT: on the recording i had it at pretty low volume and i did actually use a maxon OD808.. mainly because i had bought it and wanted to use it. but it really didnt do anything lol
 
I used to have a similar rig ...Mine was an Ultra lead and a vader 412 or a fatbottom .....sold the UL and kept my Deliverance 60, highly recommend the Deliverance amps...Vader cabs seem to love Fryette amps!

yeeeahhh \m/ this beast is right there with it tho brother im tellin you. it does that meshugggah thing. i havent played a natas but id put this right there on the same level. its too bad the fortin natas costs $5000 tho lol. i got my 2009 fryette for like $2500 had it retubed recapped and modded... trace had it for like 6 months. overall i spent close to $4000 if you count shipping it to voodoo. i think if you played it youd find it more than meets the same bar. damn i still want a natas though. i wont settle for the immitation

yeah it soounds really good with the vader cab. it sounds good with my old ass JCM800 cab too tho.. but it crushes it in a different way. i really want a fatbottom or another vader cab to stack. Im sure the deliverence heads sound great but i love the 6 band so much. i turn all the tone knobs all the way up and shape the 6 band off that. i pretty much just use the lead channel on high gain plugged in the high sensitivity jack

id really like to pair this up with an ultralead fullstack. id probably send that to trace as well tho
 
im only doing this because im out to sea right now and i cant go home and play my amp for 9 more days. i miss it almost like i miss my girlfriend
