LOG's Mesa Mark IV tone is absolutely garbage....

Opinions vary. I think they are playing with the tone they want. I think their guitars and bass complement each other and sound good together. It's brutal. The guitar sound is the band's personality. It’s their sound, easily recognizable.

I've never heard LOG so I just went a listened to some.

Sounds great to me (for metal). Garbage it is not.

I actually really like LOG's tone, I got the album sacrament, and it doesn't sound really honky or bad, sounds really good through my studio monitors played loud.

LOG was one of those bands that had a sound I wasn't initially impressed with, but it eventually grew on me.

....there I said it :)

I love the Mesa Mark tone, but they make it sound like twangy ass....I knowm....it's blasphemous.

Everytime I get a craving to get a Mesa Mark IV/V I just put in some LOG and say FUCK THAT

Of course you said it... It's the flipping truth!

LOAF tone sounds like wet cardboard mixed in with an extra strengh suppository.

I have despised LOAF and thier crappy poor excuse for guitar tone since day one...

Why anyone would go HELL YA!!! I want to run out and buy a MarkIV because of LOAF tone is beyond me...

I see what you did there. LOG vs. LOAF. I get it.

I think that's my whole position as well. It's not that it sounds terrible or it is unlistenable, it just doesn't really sound like a Mark series amp to me. Like I said earlier, why use a Mark amp, which has a very unique sound to it, when you dial it to sound like a Rockman?

eh, their sound works for what they do, IMO. 'As the Palaces Burn' isn't a particularly excellent sounding disc sonically, but the entire thing sounds a bit odd, not just the guitar work. 'Ashes of the Wake' and everything after that was an improvement.

Bass guitar is never loud enough in their mixes to my ears.
