EMGs arent for everyone. They can sound GREAT for certain applications though. Congrats.

I used EMG's in my old metal band width a Mesa Boogie MK and 2 4x12's.

That was a killer rig. The tone was crushing. The EMG's were a big part of it.

The upside for you is that if they turn out not to be suited to you, you have tried them out for yourself, and learned a bit more about what you don't like in a pickup. The quest for "Grail tone" is really more a process of elimination than it is a "Quest". Enjoy the new pups, and Merry Christmas.
