Like it says, I'm looking at these amps. I've blown through several cabs in the last year, so now I'm blowing through heads.

These have been on my radar for a while. I play Crowes, Kravitz, GNR, AIC, Tool, COC, Metallica.

It needs to thump, 50 watts, if it doesn't have a solo boost, it HAS to have a good loop for a few pedals.

What can you guys tell me? I've also emailed Nik. Cheers!

Bump for some detailed experiences on these 3 amps. Thanks!

Yeah it's a Chupa/Yeti with a full clean channel!
I would wait for that if you need a clean channeland high gain.
The AFD does sound great in the clips I've heard, but I would need more preamp gain than it has.
If you're looking for a classic Marshall tone the AFD does have it. The Yeti/Chupa have more gain and can do more modern high gain Marshall tones. Not too much difference between those two amps
Depends on your needs, they're all great

I want something to replace my EVH 5153 50w to cover the bands I cover: Crowes, Stones, GNR, Alice in Chains, Tool, Metallica (old and 90's), COC. Something that can THUMP for metal, cleans up REALLY well, and has a good effects loop for a few time-based pedals. I love channel 2 and 3 of my EVH, but looking for more "Marshall" kick in the balls flavor and overall versatility.

I've read a lot of old threads, but nothing too recent along the lines above. I'm also contacting Nik to get his point of view. The guys at .net responded, but I'm not sure they really read my email. They suggested the AFD.

Look forward to more replies!

I hear the loop is the weak point on these. Apparently it sounds like shit but I can't comment from personal experience.

Yeah, these aren't helping. I'm still looking to hear a bit more variety, ala Alice in Chains. The vintage and rock sounds are great for YT vids.

Chupa is a mean, aggressive amp. As you can hear from the second clip (which is me), it has a very snarly character. I like that. It can be dialed in and out, though. But I'd say the Yeti would be a good choice for AIC. It's a bit less bright and tighter.
