Looking for a vibe pedal...again

I sold my Microvibe to fund the Bogner Red and now I'm starting the search for a good univibe again. I wasn't in love with the Microvibe and I actually like the vibe fx in the Pod HD better. The Micro could never really nail that deep "swoosh" and I only liked it with the controls set one way.

I'm not overly concerned with "authentic" circuitry like photocells, etc. Just has to sound good. Has anyone tried the new Dunlop Hendrix vibe? I'm not looking to go all out boutique on this. I just want something that sounds good. I liked the Lovepedal Pickle vibe and am still considering grabbing one or even a Line 6 M5, but I want to see what else is out there in that price range. Thanks!

I owned the microverb, mojo vibe, fulltone vibe and now the castledine supa vibe.

The roger mayer voodoo vibe (way deeper, fatter more swoosh than fulltone and mojo vibe, less noise than flat sounding microverb) the RM killed all vibes I mentioned, except the castledine which I did not compare with it, will do...there is a smaller version of the rm available (I did not try these)

I only heard the tiny lovepedal vibe briefly, was sounding ok, I noticed less noise than microverb, probably a bit deeper....no direct comparison. Lacked deepness/fatness compared to the fulltone deja.

I recently sold a Dunlop JH4S Rotovibe and it was KILLER. This was an early one from the Hendrix series (no longer produced), not the current JD4S version. I'm a huge vibe fan, and have owned MANY high end units over the years (Mayer Voodoo Vibe, KR Megavibe, Effectode Vibe Vibe, Fulltone Deja Vibe to name a few) and this one is as good or better than these...no shit. Great swirly sound with a deep throb. You can't go wrong IMO.

Thank you guys very much for the recommendations. Maybe I should save up for a good one instead of skimping on a vibe. Anyone play a JHS Warble Tron? I love the JHS stuff I've played and the clips sound good.

Don't skimp. Roto-Vibe is something else although similar. SweetSound Mojovibe or Ultravibe 2, the Fulltone is very good as well.

Cool. Let me see if some of my stuff sells. (Can't imagine you'd want to trade for a DL4 with your Eventide and Strymon stuff...)

Don't skimp. Roto-Vibe is something else although similar. SweetSound Mojovibe or Ultravibe 2, the Fulltone is very good as well.

I've played the Fulltone Deja and I loved it!

I just got the new Hendrix mxr pedal. This is the first one I've owned and don't have a lot of experience with uni-vibe, but this pedal seems very deep and can get super swirly. It can almost sound like a flanger. I don't think it's the be all, end all of uni-vibes but it's dang good for what I use it for.

I use the Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe .... for my taste it is the best. Most of the time all I use is this & a wa ... Crybaby 535.

If anyone wants to go a lot cheaper there is a simple modification that can be done to a MXR 45 that sounds very good. The modification is easy to find with a search...

If your into tubey goodness I couldn't recommend this pedal higher.

The only other pedal I've used and can comment on is the Redwitch Empress Chorus pedal, has a switch for vibe function which I used to alternate back and forth from for some tone changes & gave a new spin on vibe sounds, didn't go sub terrain low..but midrange to upper mids was a cool tool.

FWIW, NONE of them sound like a Leslie. The KR Mega was as close to an original as you can get until the Castledine Supra-Vibe

Absolutely agree. I own several Tube vibes( TV1-TV5) and none of them sounded like a Leslie. Cool vibes for sure that had their own thing going on;To me they sounded both hi fi and organic. I never got the Castledine but Ill definitely take your word for it..

The Roger Mayer was a great Vibe but too many knobs and features, I want my Vibe to be a Vibe and nothing more. Im partial to my Mojovibe more than my UV2 because its got a very cool thickness to it. Ive heard a bunch of people say that it sounds like Phaser but I think thats just the Thickness of it.

If youre not a big vibe fan, get the picklevibe or the Mo Faux. I dont like them at all but I guess theyre good enough for those who want something close without having to spend more...

The Mojo Vibe (I also turned the tiny knob inside) sounded completely different than the Deja Vibe, Roger Mayer or Castledine, the Mojo was very thin, subtle, quite different...as mentioned I will compare the Castledine (which sounds killer) with the Roger Mayer my friend has....both sound fuller/cooler than Deja Vibe, both have definitely even more swoosh....

I made a spelling mistake in my first answer (now corrected), I have never tried the smaller roger mayer vibes.....

Of-course none of them are going to sound like a Leslie...that's why it's called an effect! The term 'effect' implies a simulation and/or replication - hence my comment; "...sounds CLOSEST to a real Leslie rotating speaker".
