Old demo I had done with the Effectrode Tube Vibe. I always liked the way it sounded recorded.

That's some great playing!

The first run of 50 Effectrode TV-1 units were produced using different parts and solder material. I think it was due to the RoHS thing? Whether this makes a difference, I do not know? The builder did personally recommended that I search one of these early units out.

Notice the difference in the "Effectrode" lettering and the control designations. The TV-1 has a cooler looking sparkle powder-coat finish vs the TV-4 flat painted finish. The Tube-Vibe also has WAY more headroom than any vibe I've tried so far. I think the tube design has something to do with this, but I'm not sure? There is a trimpot inside the TV-1 that will let you adjust the photocell intensity. The post TV-1 models also lack the 'blend' function, which for me is a must-have option on this particular pedal. It's not a wet/dry mix, but more a simulated 'speaker axis' adjust.

Call me crazy, I had VERY high hopes for the Tube Vibe but it left me flat. Wasn't impressed with either the Mo Faux or Pickle either. The original JH Rotovibe does have a bit of its own thing going on (as Carl and Kage said), but it does get very deep sounding...which I love.

This describes exactly the difference between my early TV-1 and the TV-4. The TV-1 sounds deeper, more lush... I wanted to keep my Mega's, but they seemed to get washed-out when I turned on my fuzz/drive? I always run into the vibe - then fuzz. The TV-5 was simply awful IMO. Maybe I had a lemon?

I use the Jetter Gear Vibe...nails the vibe sounds that I was looking for, has a small footprint on my board, and although not cheap, doesn't cost a fortune either.

Cool....so I'm not crazy :D . I'm currently using the vibe in my Mobius and it is killer....
