hey guys ,im looking to get some suggestions on some options of changinging channels on my mark iv and rocktron intellifex..im a noob at the rack and switch stuff .ive always just used pedals..i dont want to go thru boogie and get the FU3 when i know theres better options out there..id still like to run a dry signal, but tap the intellifex for clean and solo stuff, also dont have a bucket of money to do it..thanks for any info fellas

Wish I could help ya but I'm in the same dilemma. I have a GCX Switcher and a gigRig Pro-14 MIDI but am yet to work out how to get them to talk to each other.

i was looking at the rjm stuff but im a complete noob at this and im not sure if thats the route ,id like simple swithing between the 2

tough call on a budget, most things that involve midi/rack gear unless it's from the 80s and on ebay ;) is usually quite expensive

first thing that comes to mind would be one of the G-Lab - GSC's

http://www.glab.com.pl/gsc-2_en

they make one with only 4 bypass loops too , has midi control/relays for switching channels and what not

you can have some pedals out front in separate loops, control the intellifex presets, switch amp channels, all from one device

thanks , i was looking at that just now ,after your suggestion.. i wonder if its what would work..i figuire anything midi isnt cheap if thats the route i have to go.but i also didnt want to spend a 1000 on just switching between 3 or 4 presets

it's the most flexible i'd say, combines the various things you need (think the two amp relays should be enough for the mark IV)

and in the future if you decide to change configuration, you can still use it as a bypass looper for your pedals, and use it's amp channel switching capabilities

i had a rocktron multivalve recently, and i had a small pedalboard with say comp + od/boost pedals, and used the midi footcontroller to change channels (on a marshall JVM that accepts midi) and presets on the multivalve worked like a charm

otherwise you'll have to find some kind of midi controller (which in itself isn't necessarily cheap) plus various rack gear to do the things you're after (channel switching/bypass loops for the various pedals etc..)

The Bheringer FCC pedal does midi, and 1/4 inch channel switching. It's cheap and sturdy. It took me a YEAR to program correctly, and it's huge. Epically hard to get working right. I ditched it and just used a foot pedal and little midi buddy pedal for the intellifex. Now I ditched the rack for an RP 1000. Couldn't be happier, 4cm for the win!!

This is a good budget option. Behringer's FCB 1010 does midi switching and has 2 programmable relay switches for amp functions etc...
